This is the first sat nav i have used and found it to be very good in general. The good points are that it is easy to navigate the screens and does not take long to locate a place. There are various views you can use and you can even turn the annoying woman off by turning the volume down yipee. You can save you regular locations you travel to in your favourites which i think is a good idea. You can view your route and even projected fuel cost. changeing your prefernces is easy choose more a roads or motorways whetheryou want the quickest or cheapest route. and various other options like prefernce for a roads b roads etc. it comes with an add on disc of europe. you can navigate your route bu using the direction pad or add extra stops to your route.
Now for the bad parts you must upgrade the maps or you will go around in circles most of the time. For this you will need a new memory card as you only get a paltry 64mb you really need 256mb minimum. good little scam really from the manufacturers. Also you you have to wait an age to get a signal and when you do the slightest tree will make you loose it. Not good if you in an area full of trees ie many A and b roads. Have i mentioned the irratating woman well if you havent thrown it out of the car half way through the journey you will have turned the sound down.
However you can get her changed but you will need to have a higher capacity memory card than the one you get. You can get celebrity voices etc. You can also get software to change it into an mp3 player and show pictures but i would not reccomend it. Finally another addon you can get with a bigger memory card is speed camera locations.
Oh and if there a diversion you be buggard until you either turn around and go the way it wants or untill it finds another way! .
