The navman ICN 520sat nav is a basic sattelite navigation system(sat nav) that is for those who do not drive a lot and want a simple to use and basic sat nav. Its mainly operated via the buttons on the right hand side of the screen but tries to incorporate a touch screen. The good thing about this sat nav is that it is not just a touch screen so for those drivers who may not be used to a higher level of technology it is very easy to use.
I first bought this sat nav since I had no global positioning system(GPS) experience before and wanted a simple and basic sat nav which would guide me around my country and made sure I would never get lost. It has indeed done its job and I think it is perfect for beginers in GPS systems like me.
The downside of this system however is that it only calculates one route at a time so you are shown only one route. However, in the preferences section you can select differnet routing options that can vary your route depending on what you select. These features include how much mortorways you want, urban roads and of course the shortest or quickest route. However, a function called night time mode is very bad since on most sat navs this is designed so the light is dimmer and doesn't blind you but on this, Navman has not done a very good job.
Overall this sat nav is very easy to use and is welcoming to users of all ages from the younger generation for which a touch screen has been incorporated, to those who are slightly older for which the buttons on the right hand side make navigation around the sat nav easy.
