Navman S30 3D

...had one of the older Navman models so i thought i would buy the updated version.

Navman's new baby navigator, the S30 3D has its work cut out to compete in such a tough market, so it's good to see that it has got the most important thing right and set the price at a competitive level.
The navman can be bought for under £100 which is much less than the equivalent Tomtoms and Garmin's which start at around £150.

The Navman S30 3D is a very good choice if you're looking for decent sat-nav on a budget. Not only is it cheaper than its main competition, but it also manages to pack a whole load of innovative features in, including spoken motorway names and junctions on major routes, and is much easier to use.

With the low price satnav market becoming saturated, i found it difficult to find a satnav that would suit me. Someone i knew had one of the older Navman models so i thought i would buy the updated version.

Navman's new baby navigator, the S30 3D has its work cut out to compete in such a tough market, so it's good to see that it has got the most important thing right and set the price at a competitive level.
The navman can be bought for under £100 which is much less than the equivalent Tomtoms and Garmin's which start at around £150.

Its not only the price that makes this product better than the rest. One thing that you will not find on other equivalent satnavs is the feature that not only gives you the direction by voice, but shows the next direction with an icon in the top left hand corner. As well as this, it will give you the exact junction on a motorway.
This isnt as complex as you would get on a higher range garmin but it is still an excellent feature that you wouldn't expect to get.

Another good feature is on the address entry screen. Here it will read aloud the letter or numbers that you press when entering a post code or house number. This feature can be turned off if it starts to irritate you, but it does make it very easy to notice if you enter a wrong letter.

The actual navigation screen does initially seem busy, however you do get used to it and you soon realise that all of the icons are used. Apart from this, it is very clear and concise which makes it easy to follow when driving. The satnav does have pre loaded speed camera locations and it WILL sound an alarm before you reach them, it also shows you the speed limit of that particular camera.
It also has a speedy re-route calculation which is vital if you make a wrong turn.

To stop you becoming dazed with the bright light at night, the screen automatically dims when there is low light which is a valuable added feature that allows you to concentrate on the road.

The map data itself is reliable as it comes fully included from TeleAtlas. The 3.5in, 320mm x 240mm touchscreen is bright and clear, and responds positively to the
touch.

For the price this is a great buy. I have had no problems with it, styling is much better than the other equivalents in my opinion. For under £100 you cannot go wrong. Cannot fault it in any way shape or form. If you are in the market for a budget Sat Nav, with excellent build quality and you dont want an MP3 player or camera gimmick this should be your choice.
