Owning a Volvo S80

Advantages: Extremely well built reliable and comfortable vehicle
Disadvantages: Very low to the ground and can be thirsty on fuel

The Volvo S80 is the Volvo flagship and inherits the build quality and reliability that Volvo is renown for. The smooth six-cylinder engine is quiet and reliable but if pushed can be thirsty with less than 18 mpg. Its not a BMW 528 and so you cant throw the S80 around in the same manner; but on the other hand its built with so many safety features you are at least safe and extremely comfortable. Its capable of 145 mph where the plod turn a blind eye and at 100 mph your passengers will never guess your going that fast! Volvo servicing is excellent and the agents tend to ?look? after you like no other dealers, but again don?t expect cheap prices this is a £30,000+ car and when it does need parts, they wont be cheap! Review of Volvo S80 2.9 

navman? get lost!

Advantages: 14 addresses can be entered for multi drop
Disadvantages: can't find almost half of those!

I have the navman s50 3d which is the 15th sat-nav/gps device I have owned. What attracted me initialy was the cheap price and the 14 multi drop destinatons you can input (I am a multi drop delivery driver). However, I find the touch screen entry of addresses a nightmare to do with the wrong letters being selected quite often (even some being from a couple of inches away on the screen!) Of all of the sat-navs I have used with my job this one only finds about 60% of the streets in my town that I enter (town is over 60 years old with only a few streets that have not been here that long!) This compares with around 95-98% found with all of the other sat-navs I have owned. Review of Navman S50

Canon S80

Advantages: Point and shoot capabilities, Ability to adjust advanced settings, Big Screen.
Disadvantages: Quite pricey in some shops, not recommended for people who just want to point and shoot only.

I have always been a fan of photography and persued the hobby ernestly when I got my first SLR for my 18th. But after many failed shots and a rather vague understanding I gave up. It was too expensive and time consuming to get a whole film developed to only get 4 or 5 good shots. My passion for photography has been renewed again by the Canon S80. If I just want to point and shoot I can use the auto mode and the camera will set all the settings for me. Or I can use one of the preset modes for indoor, outdoor, snow, beach (i wish!) settings etc. Great photos, amazing quality and dead easy. But, if I do want to get a bit more technical, I can adjust settings and see the effect on the screen straight away. No more scribbling the settings and the shot number in a little book and waiting for the results to be processed at the chemist ...
