Advantages: Straightens hair well. Disadvantages: Handle heats up after a while
I choose these straightners after deciding to invest in a new pair after using one of the wide remington ones. These are easy to use and heat up in no time. Compared to the ones I had prior to these I prefer these because on the straighteners there is a on/off button which helps if I do forget to switch the plug off. The different heat settings means they will work on practically any type of hair. My hair is quite thick and when it was longer I had ... ...effectively more of it! My hair is now short and still works well, the width of the straightners makes it easier as well when straightening my fringe.
The handle is a little awkward to hold after a while and if you have to use them for a while then the handle tends to get hot as well.
The straighteners don't come with a heat proof mat or case, so I have to rely on them not burning through my carpet!
I bought these when they were half price in ...

Advantages: Good technology and finish for price, adjustable heat control. Disadvantages: Slow heat-up to high temperatures.
To start with, I believe the name of the product should be changed to "Nicky Clarke Kinder 4 Hair Straighteners" as this is what the trade name is. I found it difficult to find this.
Just to say I'm a male and needed these straighteners to style my extremely curly hair to a straighter style I desired. Without straightening my hair there are only two styles, gelled or messy. Using straighteners and hair wax or glue I can style loads of styles that ... ...when people talk about hair straighteners one name is always mentioned, "GHD". These are very good as I've had a hair stylist use them on my hair but they cost £100. I knew I wanted the best straighteners I could get for my money so I started my search and ended up buying these from argos for £24.99 a month or so before X-mas. I noticed since then that the price increased to £50, but it has come back down slightly to todays price of £39.99. It's ...

Advantages: different heat settings, swivel cord Disadvantages: experienced minor electrical problem
Considering the reasonable price of these hair straighteners I think the performance is adequate. The different heat settings is definately useful if you want to minimise heat damage to your hair, but also as I do have quite fine hair in the past other straighteners have been to harsh and caused damage. The swivel cord is very useful, as I find them much easier to use for styling, and they are also great to creating slight curls.
I do feel that ... ...shine, however this is more prevelent the first few times of use. I also experienced some connections problems in terms of the LED lighting up once on. However they seem to fulfil their function at a very good price, and seem to work just as well as other more expensive straighteners avaliable. ...

Head Up High.. Review ofNclarke NCS54/NCS70by
Goldfish100
Advantages: frizz control Disadvantages: everyone wants to borrow them
I have quite curly hair. Some would say WAYYYYY to curly hair...
And it is not only curly...... its frizzy! unbelieveably so!
It upsets me soo much.. and my self esteem.
I used to have a pair of hum drum straighteners... and they did ok.. not dead straight but not too frizzy either... slightly bearable.
At christmas I got a pair of these Nicky Clarke Straightners... and Oh My God They are awesome!!!!!!
I can get my hair exactly how straight ... ...do not even have to straighten my hair as often.. it has a leasting effect... even after washes..
I now do not worry about having people laughing or talking about my frizzy mess of a head..... I can walk with my head held high...
confidently...
strutting my stuff
:) ...

Advantages: reduces frizz, and it it as easy to curl as to straighten Disadvantages: the handle becomes quite uncomfortable over time
There are many good features to these stylers, most of all the finished result is very good and it takes little effort and time compared to some other stylers on the market. i found that being able to change the temperature was extremely usefull as i have quite thick hair which needs a high temperature to have any effect and my sister, with who i shared the styler has fine hair and a high temperature would frazzle her hair. However there are a few ... ...for a long period of time the handle can heat up quite alot which can be a little uncomfortable and also the design can be a strain on your hands if you must use it for a long period of time.
Overall, i have found this to be a good quality styler and thought it was good value for money, i would definately recomend it to someone considering a purchase. ...

The Nicky Clarke NCS75 also goes by the name "pro ceramic worldwide straightener" because it has a worldwide voltage, suitable for use in any country. I personally tested it out, and it worked fine in the middle of Asia as well as the middle of London!... more
I have had these straighteners for a while now, so I have had time to get used to them.
At the time they were one of the best ‘cheap’ end straighteners you could buy. With having the ceramic plates they heat up quite quickly, usually to the top... more
