I have to say i have loved all the Need for Speed games since the original one was released all them years ago, back then i had a playstation, and i used to link up with my friend to play need for speed, it was one of the best games i had played. until now.
This game is totally superb, from the first menu, up until the end cradits, you will be hooked, driving through country roads, or taking to the city in a porsche speeding through shorcuts, damaging your car with flip after flip, or just taking ot nice and steady (yes cos that happens dont it LOL). This game is for everyone who likes to drive, you have the longetivity, of starting in the 60's and going through the decades as a Driver, from the early porsche's all the way to the porsche 2000, you will be able to collect them as you go along, seeing if you can win a Porsche Spider after you have completed a decade, from the vintage to the modern day, they are all included, and you have the chance to drive, and also upgrade the porsches as and when you wish.
now it is for you to decide what you want to do, as you have 2 choices here, you can either play the game as a simulation, or become a porsche test driver, which means you have to do things laid out for you, such as completing a section of track in a certain time, this can include doing 360's in the middle and then accelerating as fast as the car will let you to the finsh, the choice here is yours
but lets start with the simulation game.
So you have started the game, set up the graphics to the specification your system can handle, set up the controls, and also setup your driver as yourself, and now it is time to purchase your first car, you go to the garage, and choose to buy a car, not many choices at first, but these get greater as you go along in the game, as you can also buy second hand damaged ones and mend them at the garage, and then either sell them to the highest bid you get, or keep them and enter races. you have a lot of choices, and it is upto you what you decide to do, as long as you have the money from winning races, you have the choices.
So now you have brought your car, and you decide to race on a track you are permitted to, you have sometimes certain tracks you cannot go on, if say, you have a better car than required, or your car does not match the requiered acceptence to take part in the race.
So you are now on the start line, and you start to race, you will realise that these older porsches, are not that quick, but as the game goes along, you will get access to purchase faster, and greater machines for you to race with.
and now you have finished the race, if you have won it, you will have got some prize winnings, you get some no matter where you finish, apart from last i think, but i do not really know, as not taken much notice as never came last(big head me is) LOL :).
so now you are going through the decades racing different porches, upgrading them with more faster acceleration, more grip with racing tyres, more down force with spoilers, well you can choose to bascially alter your car from a silly little cacky car, to a monster, something that will leave your opponenets standing on the grid, this game has a lot going for it.
it is a long game, not in the sense that you will have to play it for like 5 hours at anytime, it is just a long game as in, the way it is made, as you will have to go back and finish the decade, because you want to, you want to get higher and higher, and faster and faster cars.
all i can really say to sum it up is to go out and play it, and by the way i think it is available on the replay charts, which means it should be available for £9.99 now, which is a price that cannot be refused.
well done EA for producing this, and i hope they keep bringing out bigger and better driving games, because this is excellent.

Electronic Artsreleases another version of their long-runningNeed For Speedseries, based ... more
on the legendaryPorschesports car. As inNeed For Speed 4: Road Challenge,Need For Speed: Porsche 2000is a great racing game. After viewing the rendered intro sequence, the game contains 24 Porsches to choose from initially, with that number potentially increasing to 74. Each is faithfully recreated for the game, with the games' physics engine encompassing each of the cars unique handling style and personality. The graphics run smoothly and the sound is ample. It is the game modes, however, where this game shines. I incorporates a career mode, time trials and an evolution mode, where the game gives the player the opportunity to trade and create the ultimate dreamPorschecar, the games longevity is not in question.Need For Speed : Porsche 2000is a worthy addition to theNeed For Speedseries. --Alex Leung.
