Need for Speed ProStreet is the current installment in the need for speed series. You start as a man who is no to godd to race in the underground scene and is now racing in legal races held in a number of countries. Your goal is to work you way up to be the best racer in 4 different race classes. You need at least 1 car for each event and you have to tune it to your specs.
Autosculpt returns from its first appearence in Carbon and has improved and every thing you change on it affects the preformance of the car. There are many different things to customise your cars with but unfourtunantly some of the fans favourite customise objects like neon lights do not return for this installment. Real time damage is added which gives a realistic driving experience which looks great on the ps3.
Unlike the previous need for speeds, ProStreet focuses on legal racing. This means police chases do not appear which is a shame as it added an extra dimension to the gameplay in Carbon and Most Wanted.
Some of the races can seem repetitive as the objectives are very similar to eachother. Its a case of either get to the end without crashing or get the most points by drifting.
I think EA have taken a step back in ProStreet. In previous installments the free roam feature expanded the gameplay and gave it more depth but in ProStreet it can get dull. The graphic are supurb and the customise features are excellent but the fact it is no longer street racing takes some of the appeal away. The age rating is 3+ but I would find it hard to see a younger children working the customise and tune features. The music on the game has a good mix of genres and fits in with the game well and its great to tear up the track with your music loud.
I wouldnt reconmend this game at £39.99 but if you can find it under £30 I would say its ok for the price. If your a true racing fan this is the game for you.
I would give the game 6/10.
