NFSU: R has a wide selection of music; but unfortunately for some they are all in the Rock genre. But this can be turned off in the options menu easily. ... ...aerodynamic accessories available. Unlike other Need for Speed games you win the body parts instead of unlocking them, and can install them between races. There are 20 cars to customise fully, with all parts being cross-car parts. Customising the cars is just as fun as racing them.
Customisation: 8/10
It's not the best customisation on a game I've seen but its pretty damn good!

Advantages: Very easy to pick up and play Disadvantages: Frustrating on the later levels
...night time, but hey no need for shadowing effects, light reflections ala GT4 right!
Good selection of cars, as typical of most racing games these days, the more you race the more points/credits you accumulate to buy better cars. Must admit the race tracks do get a bit repetitive, but hey, still fun. Your AI opponents are aggressive and sneaky but hey - you can run them off the road, a right laugh if at a critical point in the race!
If you like ... ...good racing game, or a game which you can quickly pick up and play, you could do worse then Need For Speed Underground, it may not be the definitive racing game (have to check out GT) but for the moment this is one of the best games on the PSP. ...

Advantages: Ability to personalize your car, wide range of races Disadvantages: Each race has to be complete 3 times
This is a very fun game to play. You are firstly provided with a choice of 3 cars. Once you have chosen your car you begin the game. There are many types of races, some of them being the nitro run (going around the checkpoints until you run out of time. At each checkpoint you are awarded a little extra time and a fill up of nitrous), the drift run (get points for drifting) and one of my favourites the drag race. As each race is completed you are ... ...your car/buy new cars, and some drivers points. Every now and again you are also awarded with more choice of cars, or paint jobs for you are etc...
The ability to design your cars decor is a major plus in my opinion. This is done through different body kits, paint job, headlights etc...
One problem with this game is that each race must be completed 3 times (progressively harder) to complete the game. Sometimes this can be very frustrating as if ...

Advantages: Easy to pick up gameplay, Good graphics. Disadvantages: Tracks for racing get a bit boring as you get into game.
I am fairly new to gameplay and found this game a good place to start. The game was very easy to pick up and fairly easy to understand your way around the game.
You have quite a few different race options too choose from. From circuit races in novice, pro and a car specific race, so that you can race the individual cars against other cars of the same spec. You also have the option of racing in drag races, nitro races(which as you get further get ... ...quite fun and allow you to skid your car round a specified track.) The extra races were fun and were a good way of breaking up the game so you didn't get bored with just the circuit races. I was hooked very quickly and really enjoyed the way that you build up points and credits to purchase your next car. You also collects bonus parts as you go along which improve your cars performance. You also have the option of being able to choose how your car ...

...an awesome game. It's like Need for Speed: Underground, with some features from Need for Speed: Underground 2. This graphics are AWESOME!!!! They are just like PS2 graphics and I was amazed when I saw this game. You choose a car and you can tune it out with visual and preformence upgrades. You can own up to 20 cars and four bonus cars so there's a lot of cars to choose from. There are also many new game modes. All the modes include: Drag, Drift, ... ...AWESOME!!! They are songs from Need for Speed: Underground 1 and 2 plus new songs. Some of the artists include: Spiderbait, Skindred, My Chemical Romance, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg and The Doors, Chingy, and a lot more. There are also some music videos to watch. This game is a very fun game and a very easy game to learn how to play so I recommend it for new PSP players and racing fans. This game is a lot of fun but some people might want to rent it before ...

Advantages: PS2 games with excellent graphics, control and sound on a handheld machine. Disadvantages: Cost and lack of games for it at the moment. Hard to get hold off.
...quality, and the games are reasonably priced with brilliant soundtracks. The in-built WiFi means I can play multiplayer Need For SpeedUndergroundRivals with my brother on his PSP, somewhere else in the house. With a 4Gb memory stick, this is an ipod mini, with a 16 million colour screen and the ability to play movies and games. Not many games out at the moment though, as soon as the EU PSP is released we should be seeing PSP-version games of Pro Evo 4 (i hope), GT4, Fifa Street, and all the other great PS2 games. Currently looking forward to the release of Grand Theft Auto PSP (GTA3 with new missions and soundtrack). Otherwise a must have for Playstation fans....

...Rockstar Games released Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition a couple of months back to both fan and critical acclaim. Eschewing the overly commercialized, hokey, and downright stereotypical stylings of the street racing genre, it was a most welcome offering. Now, developer Rockstar Leeds has cranked out a PSP iteration of its console racer and has managed to cram nearly the entire scope of the console game onto one of those tiny Universal Media Discs. Unfortunately, a few serious liberties had to be taken to make that happen. Some ugly load times, minimal damage modeling, a few periodic sound bugs, and one unpleasant frame rate all conspire to make the PSP version of Midnight Club 3 a weaker overall effort. Sure, it's still a mostly fun and sometimes exciting street racer, but when put up against competition like Ridge Racer and Need for Speed...

...in the review - because many people will not know what the PSP is fully capable of - and this should give them some idea of all its capabilities - which are EXTREMELY impressive. Having experienced these capabilities, I can vouch for that.
GAMING!!
OK - the bit that the PSP was designed for. The games that I own are Ridge Racer, Need For SpeedUnderground (Rivals), Dynasty Warrior, and Metal Gear Acid.
N.B. UMD discs work anywhere in the world - but ONLY for games. The videos films are region locked. So you cannot play an American UMD in a Japanese player (Spiderman 2). I'm not too bothered about this - but people should know!
The first thing you will notice about the PSP when you begin playing is the graphics! They are PHENOMENAL!!!! It is seriously like having a PS2, but in the palm of your hands. I've honestly never seen anything like...

I got this game cheap, I admit it. I paid £7.99 second hand from Game. I only bought it because of the reputation of the name, I'd heard very little about it other than it was a car game that you can play a lot, and some people swear by.
This has... more
