Advantages: stylish, inexpensive, functional and practical Disadvantages: maybe a bit noisy
I fitted out my kitchen in 2006 and furnished it completed with Neff appliances. I solicited some reviews from my colleagues about 2nd level appliance manufacturers and Neff came out as one.
1st level in my opinion - bosch, whirlpool, hotpoint, zanussi
2nd level - neff, smeg
3rd level - miele, fischer/paykel
Having never heard of Neff before I duly ordered the integrated appliance brochures and was amazed at the style, functionality and practicality of their products. I selected this hood because I have a small space and the theme was silver, contemporary .
It is very stylish and has 2 halogen lights, more than sufficient for the space it covers. Also the grill is dishwasher safe, so I put that in my Neff dishwasher! It has easy to select controls. as for noise, i feel it is a bit noisy but did not have the opportunity to ...

Advantages: Sucks up fumes Disadvantages: Made by SMEG
I can`t believe that I am actually sitting here writing an opinion on a cookerhood. What the Smeg can I possibly say that will make anyone out there want to buy a Smeg KSEIV95X cookerhood ? And who the hell would want to put anything in their kitchen with the word SMEG emblazoned across it. The modern homes exhibition will never be the same again. Beautiful fitted kitchens that contain more SMEG than a Thailand brothel. It is a hood, it is made by Smeg, it goes above the cooker and it sucks out all the unwanted fumes that make your nice clean home smell like a backstreet greasy spoon diner. And before anyone asks me, yes, I do get commission for the number of times I include the name SMEG in my op (I wish). lmao.
The KSEIV95X cookerhood from Smeg (god, I hate saying that word) is quite simply the Rolls Royce of cookerhoods ...
Advantages: clean simple lines, good price Disadvantages: none so far
The world of cookerhoods can be a confusing and frustrating place to be. The choice is endless and the price you can pay is verging on the ridiculous.
So what type of hood and how much to pay to complete my purchase of kitchen appliances?
The brief from Mrs Scenic was a chimney hood. I did try to steer her toward the flat rear vented type, but she was having none of it. Now with chimney hoods you can pay anything up to £300 and on for the more expensive makes. Luckily I was in charge of the budget and anything over £150 was out of the running, so I was very pleased to see this Baumatic in the Homebase catalogue for £99.99. After playing around with kitchen unit combinations for about 2 hours I just tacked this hood onto the list and thought "job done".
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, if I had checked the spec's of the hoods I ...
