Nemaslug

This product works on the basis of using Nematodes (a tiny natural organism that preys on garden pests and not on anything else) whichg are released into the body of the pest leaving a bacteria that prevents the pest from feeding which of course kills the pest. The nematodes then reproduce to creat a cycle of help for the environmentally concerned gardener, eventually dying back to natural numbers. I purchased a packet of Nemaslug after the continuous rain we had this summer kept washing away the slug pellets I applied daily. One application is said to last up to six weeks. I am on week three. I applied the product with water, through a watering can and applied it to my vegetable garden, potted plants, hanging baskets and some of my lawn. Within a week I noticed that there were no slugs or snails anywhere near my veggies, and there was around 150 empty snail shells. I crushed these and added them to the compost bin. Nemaslug is a wonderful product. It comes as a light brown powder which you mix with water. make sure the soil is damp and then simply water the whole of your garden/veg patch etc with a watering can or a hose end feeder. It is important to keep the soil moist for 5 days after application. Nemaslug does not keep so when you recive it you must store it in a fridge until you are ready to use it and you must use the whole application in one go. Evening is the best time to treat.
