Why in particular Nescafe Gold? Well it was a sort of indirect recommendation from my local Indian Restaurant; I have eaten there many times and like to end the meal with a coffee laced with cream, I even bought a filter machine to try and replicate the flavour of what I thought was a fresh coffee but couldn’t understand why my coffee was always tepid in temperature whist theirs was hot. ... ...their closely guarded secret * Nescafe Gold Blend *
So there I had it the secret of good coffee!
Although I was fooled into thinking we had consumed a filter coffee I would not say that it is as good, and after curry the taste buds are slightly insensitive to flavours, but I would say it measure up very favourably for an instant alternative but over priced.

I am a true coffee addict and have been known to drink up to eighteen mug’s of the caffeine enriched brew per day. And in my time have purchased some dire tasting brands. Some truly insipid brown beverage that I have had to endure in times of ‘fragility in the purse department.’ But things change and I now have more spending power so it’s off to the coffee department at good old Tesco, to purchase a large jar of Nescafe Gold Blend.
Why in particular Nescafe Gold? So on my next visit I enquired as to which filter machine they used, as mine was useless at keeping the coffee hot! They then let me into their closely guarded secret * Nescafe Gold Blend *

Here is the harm it will do to your pocket; it is expensive for instant coffee, if you fancy a reasonable alternative Tesco Gold is worth a mention as very cost-effective substitute. I have also put in their price list if you fancy giving it a try.

~ Nescafe Gold Blend ~ So what you get for your hard earned cash; a glass bottle with smooth lines that curve inwards on both sides to give a ‘waist’ effect, toped with a bronze coloured screw top lid, the front label has the Nescafe logo with the picture of coffee beans spilling out of a gold scoop. The label on the back gives the product makers details.
After removal of the lid and the breaking of the seal, a strong coffee aroma is very pleasant, like that freshly ground bean smell you get in specialised coffee shops.
Kettle boiled, I heaped teaspoon of granules placed into mug. The coffee aroma survives the boiled water test but does lessen after the addition of milk, which is a little disappointing.
~Taste~
Black ~ quite smooth with no burnt or sour flavour that you can get with some instant coffees, a reasonable amount of coffee aroma that stays with the drink until finished.
With semi-skimmed milk ~ the addition of milk does impart the flavour slightly, and the coffee aroma is not as evident. This is when you really can tell that it is an instant coffee rather than fresh. Still pleasant compared with the bitterness of other brands I have tried.
With single cream~ this is when I feel it tastes its best. The cream appears to hold the coffee aroma rich tasting with the bold full flavour similar to filter coffee, it stays until the last drop has been savoured, lovely.
~Finally~
My marks out of ten
Price 5/10 A lot of money for an instant coffee.
Aroma 8/10 The closest to a fresh ground coffee bean compared to others of its type.
Taste 8/10 No bitterness but the loss of flavour with milk lets it down
Packaging 4/10 It is classy packaging but I feel this reflected in the pricing of the product.
Value for money 6/10 comparing with Tesco’s branded label, I feel you are paying a little over the top for a named brand product.
Well worth the purchase when available at offer prices. I’m off to Tesco to stock up.

Advantages: Smooth To Drink, Quality Aroma Disadvantages: Stigma Of The Old Gold Blend Ad's!
...Gold Blend is made by Nescafe and I would suggest that Gold Blend is still one of Nescafe's premium instant coffee's despite all the new varieties that have been launched in recent years. Still packaged in a glass jar with a shaped gold twisting lid, the packaging is identical to many of the other premium coffee's made by Nescafe at the present time.
The packaging is not offence nor is it unique. The main body of colour is a black with a gold bean ... ...Nescafe logo, all text is in a gold colour.
So, down to the nitty gritty, hands up who wants a cuppa?
Opening the jar you get a wonderful aroma of ground coffee, even though this is an instant coffee, it isn't a strong, overwhelming smell but it certainly does give you an immediate hit of the aroma which you will be drinking in a few moments time. The granules are of a normal sized hen compared to normal, branded instant coffee, but the colour ...

...world (well, nearly) - Nescafe Gold Blend. :o) And it's unfortunate for Marks wallet that my favourite thing in the world is one of the most expensive instant coffee's on the market. And I drink a lot of coffee......... I usually put the cost of the product at the end of the op but the sheer cheek of Nescafe for charging £3.59 for a 200g jar of coffee has forced the pricing details to the top of the op! Standard Nescafe is around £2.69 for 200g and ... ...a huge price increase when Nescafe is known as one of the best coffee manufacturers anyway! Rant over, on with the op. :o)
Gold Blend is one of the huge variety of coffee's produced by Nescafe. Nescafe was first introduced in Switzerland in 1938 and has since grown to be one of the largest and most well respected brands on the market.

Advantages: Gorgeous aroma and taste Disadvantages: Too much causes palpitations
...am the UK’s No 1 Nescafe Gold Blend Fan. I started drinking Coffee when I was around 12, after discovering that black and sugarless it had no calories, needless to say, my tender taste-buds couldn’t quite handle this experience and I used to pump it full of sugar and milk, then as I grew upwards and outwards, sweeteners – I religiously used to boil up the milk every evening, spoon in the coffee and away I went.
During my teens I managed to lose ... ...cup after cup of strong Nescafe original with skimmed milk and sweeteners, until the day I travelled to Germany and my mum stopped me taking the sweeteners in case the Customs Officers thought they were drugs and confiscated them and arrested me, so started the experience of drinking it with no sugar. Of course, it was still Nescafe Original in those days, and then a friend introduced me to Gold Blend as he point blank refused to drink anything else. ...

You fill your mug with steaming hot water and your nostrils are filled with a beautiful aroma of hot strong but smooth blend of coffee. Advantages: Lovely taste. Good substitute for the "real" thing. Disadvantages: It's still an instant, and although good, doesn't hold a candle to freshly made ground coffee.
...There are two types of Nescafe instant coffee that I enjoy.
The first is “Blend 57”, and the other is the one I’m going to write about here, “Gold Blend”. I like both equally as well, and really don’t mind which I drink.

Advantages: Healthier Disadvantages: Still contains caffeine, expensive
NescafeGoldBlend Decaffeinated is unlike other coffee as it does not contain caffeine.
Now is decaffeinated better than caffeine?
What is caffeine - This is a substance that can affect the nervous system, can make you alert and fight tiredness away for a short period of time. This can last up to 4 hours before you start feeling tired, but it does not mean you don't have to sleep. It just makes your body think you are not tired for a certain amount of time. Regular use of it can make you feel dependant on it and could cause you to have a sleep disorder.
Decaffeinated - From the name you might think contains no caffeine but that is not the case it. It still contains a fifth of the caffeine in a regular cup. Which means drinking 5 regular cups of decaffeinated coffee could be the same as consuming one cup of caffeinated ...
Advantages: No caffeine! Disadvantages: No caffeine?
I really love coffee but cannot drink it with caffeine in because it causes me to have really bad palpitations. I gave up coffee a few years ago because of this although I got the usual withdrawal symptoms of headaches for the first week or two.
When they put 'decaf' coffee onto the market I decided to give it a try. I find I can drink NescafeGoldBlend Decaffeinated Coffee without getting the symptons of palpitations.
It has a really good smooth rich flavour which is not impared by the lack of caffeine. Of all the decaffeinated coffees I have tried I feel that NescafeGoldBlend Decaffeinated Coffee has the best flavour with no bitterness. A great treat for the tastebuds without the palpitations! I would definitely recommend this coffee to others! ...

NESCAFEGOLDBLEND DECAFF COFFEE.
Nescafe is the world's favourite coffee, as a nation we drink a staggering 15000 cups of Nescafe every minute.
DECAFFEINATED COFFEE IS IT FOR YOU
The word decaffeinated conjures up thoughts to me, of a coffee which has had the the main strength taken out. Surely it's the ingredient caffeine, which gives coffee it's rich, distinctive flavour. It also gives it 'The Kick', which we associate with coffee when drinking it. Coffee is for most people one of the simple pleasures of the day. Drunk In moderate amounts it can be a treat for the taste buds. Many people start their working day with an espresso. This ...
