Sinking into my lovely delicious bar of Aero, which is so light and rich at the same time. It makes me wonder where this bar started, it's company - Nestle.

Where did it all begin?

* 1901 - Henri Nestle set-up a sales office in London, in 1901. Nestle opened their first UK factory.

* 1905 - Nestle merged with an Anglo-Swiss condensed Milk company.

* 1935 - Aero was introduced to the North of England as the 'New Chocolate'!

* 1936 - The chocolate had reached New York!

* 1982 - Aero Chunky was launched for consumers wanting a snack on the go.

Taste Test

Opening up the pack , revealing the shiny foil inside wrapping. I break off a piece, it is quite soft, the smell is a very rich coca smell which is slightly sweet but not overly.
The texture is soft and the melts very nicely. It is so smooth and light and, well, bubbly.
The taste is very rich, more like darker chocolate than a milk, It is certainly on the darker side of milk chocolate. It is sweet but not sickening. I am mainly tasting the cocoa then the sugar.

It is very pleasant and very soft.

Packaging

A white wrapper with brown bubbles, infact the wrapper is mainly brown. Red branded 'Nestle' logo, and silver etched around the outer 'Aero' writing.
The packaging isn't anything really special. The inside silver wrapper is nice, which is something most chocolate bar wrappers have. I believe, personally this is because it reflects the chocolate making your bar appear larger, thinking you have more, then before you know it, gobble, gobble, gone! Sad face :(
Thinking you had more is maybe a gimmick to make you go and buy more once it has gone!

Ingredients

Milk Chocolate containscocoa solids 25% minimum, milk solids 14% minimum and vegetable fat in addition to the cocoa butter.
Sugar, Dried Whole Milk, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Vegetable Fat, Whey Powder, Lactose, Emulsifier (soya Lecithin), Butterfat, Flavouring.

How Aero bars are made for the currious

Liquid chocolate is filled into the chocolate bar moulds.

When the chocolate is in its liquid form and just starting to turn to solid, it has air run through it with a vacuum as it starts to cool, creating all those lovely bubbles inside.

Aero Facts

* Aero was going to be called 'Airways', the name was going to be given to reflect the vogue for jet travel in the 1930's.

* The Peppermint flavoured Aero was released in 1970 and is still the top selling Aero product! - Saying that, yes the mint is nice but I am very happy with this bar thankyou very much!

Would I Recommend?

Yes definately! I love how this is such a rich, smooth chocolate bar. Just wish there was more of it!
