Advantages Thick creamy Nestle chocolate shell; good sized egg; delicious taste and texture;
Disadvantages Only available at Easter; usually quite highly priced
I was shopping in Netto and was just paying for my bag of salad at the counter when I saw I tray full of cadbury creme eggs, Neslte Smarties shakers eggs and Nestle Areo eggs reduced to only 15p. Seeing as I have never tried the areo egg, I thought I'd give it a try!
The packaging looks really good. The egg comes in a amall white plastic package decorated with loads of brown areo bubbles and a big CG drawing of the Aero egg on the front, as well as the 'Aero' logo (brown bubble writing, also filled with little brown bubbles) and also the the 'Nestle' logo. Of course the branded catch phrase has to be there - 'Have you felt the bubbles melt?'
When I opened the packet I was immediently hit with that sweet nestle chocoalate smell - gorgeous. It smelt so creamy; the uniquie delight of Nestle chocolate. The egg is about the same size as a Cadbury creme egg which pleased me as sometimes, spin off versions of chocolate bars, like the Mars Bar
********* Product ***********
The filing looks just like the filling of a Nestle aerobar (obviously). The chocolate comprised of tiny aero bubbles, pressed together to form a mound in the shell. I pressed by thumb into it and found it to be quite firm; it didn't crumble. The surrounding chocolate shell in which the aero bubbles sat was nice and thick, again, the same thickness as a a creme egg.
********** Taste test ****************I started by nibble the chocoalte shell off. Ohh, the chocolate was so thick and creamy, melting in my mouth. It came away quite easily from the filling but Unfortunately, the aero filling began to crumble away and melt on my fingers so I figured I'd better pop it into my mouth before it ended up all over my desk.
I am in absolute Heaven! My teeth sunk through the thick milky chocoalte and then hit the soft aero filling. Whilst I chewed on the creaminess of the shell, the aero filling melted on my tongue; so chocolately and smooth. It was a lovely comination of textures in my mouth, from the chewiness of the milky chocolate shell, to the light dissolvable aero filling. I'd better get back to Netto quick and stock up!Overall ,this is absolutely divine. At normal price these ould cost about 43p which is the average price of a creme egg, plus, its the same size. On the other hand, it is just a chocolate aero bar in the shape of an egg so you're probably best off just buying an aero bar which will last you longer for the same price. Unfortunately, they are only available at Easter. On the other hand, Aero bars are available all year round so you aren't going to miss out of the delicious bubbly experience! It's really light so I was left wanting another one. I suppose, with the aero segments, you feel satisfied because you break bits off but when you simply biting into chocolate, it seems to disappear too fast!
