~~~~~~MY FINAL THOUGHTS~~~~~~
After Eights come in two varieties, white chocolate and plain (dark) chocolate, I have tasted both of them and strongly prefer the white chocolate ones.
They are ... ...your breath in the process, thus killing two birds with one stone so to speak.
I would quite happily chomp through another box of these as a gift as the product quality is of a very high standard but as for paying 4 pounds plus a box, I think I’ll pass.
There is no mention on the box of any nut traces so I think for you allergy prone people out there, it is safe to buy them.
Personally, I think they make a great ... more
Well, I haven’t done a nice choccy opinion for a while now so I just had to give it another go. The other day, a friend of my Nan’s (Note: Not my NAN but a friend of) gave me a box of White Chocolate After Eight mints.
Why they did this is beyond me, I don’t usually go round buying people I hardly know a box of choccies but I’ll be damned if I was going to complain. What a nice little (ahem!) big, cheapskate I am, well I suppose someone has to be, might as well be me.
Jubilantly, I carried my box of heavenly treats hope for further investigation, here are my findings:
~~~~~~PACKAGING~~~~~~
The creamy colored rectangular box is elegantly designed, as it is really aimed at the more up-market of people. The After Eight dark green logo, is written in fancy writing and there is an old fashioned looking gold clock in the middle of the box. After tearing off the clear cellophane wrapper, I opened the box to be greeted with no less than 35 wafer thin chocolate mints, each one inside their very own little shiny, cream colored sleeve.
~~~~~~PRICE AND NUTRITION INFORMATION~~~~~~
I’m not 100% sure about the price as I was given them as a present but I have been told by a friend that each 300g box costs approximately 4GBP’s. There are 422 calories and 11.6g of fat for every 100g, approximately 36 calories per chocolate and 0.9g fat.
~~~~~~TASTE, LOOK AND SMELL~~~~~~
Once removed from their posh little sleeve, these wafer thin morsels simply look like a white rippled square, they smell like a mixture of creamy chocolate and toothpaste (weird one would say?) Nah, quite nice actually.
Biting into one, you are greeted with a delicious creamy white chocolate shell and inside is a refreshing white peppermint fondant cream center. As these are supposed to be ‘after dinner mint chocolates’ they are really meant to be used at dinner parties to annihilate any unwanted nasty niffs that your garlic infested meal may have left behind via your breath.
They are sweet and do house a very strong minty kick but they are simply perfect to munch after any meal. Oh enough of this snobby talk, who am I kidding? I aint a snob and I don’t have dinner parties, I simply sat there and scoffed the entire box in the space of half an hours worth of Ciao-ing LOL.

Advantages: smell delicious,taste gorgeous,great for sharing Disadvantages: Can get sickly,may be pricey
...is shining on it. The Nestle After Eight writing is writte in dark green (the usual colour of After Eight). It also tells you on the front of the box that they are white chocolate mints.
On both sides of the box it is coloured dark green with another symbol of a clock and the words After Eight written in white.This is a contrast to the white section and I feel it works really well.
On the bottom of the box you will find how many grams there are ... ...addresses of consumer services for Nestle are written in different languages making it easy for most people to understand. The one thing that is missing and I absolutely hate this are the calories.It doesn't say a word about how many calories is in one box never mind one tiny mint.That to me means that there are loads and they won't tell you in case it puts you off buying them.
I feel that at 49p these were a real bargain so if I were you I'd run ...

The white chocolate on these looks very smooth, each of the chocolates is very thin and about 2cm square. When you bite into them you can see that the peppermint fondant cream centre inside is white and soft. The first thing that you taste when you bite into them is the peppermint. ... ...not be for you.
Nestle After eight mints come in three different flavours. Original dark chocolate, white chocolate and orange flavoured. I have now tasted all three varieties and if I had to pick a favourite it would be the original. They are sold in most supermarkets, newsagents and many other places for between £3 - £4. ...

The AfterEight first appeared in 1962 and although many other after dinner mints are now available, these classics sold 42 million pounds worth in 2000 and remain top dog for that after dinner treat.

Advantages: It's chocolate Disadvantages: Hard to find.
Think of chocolates , think of posh restaurants , and one thing that comes to mind is AfterEightmints , you know , those unique plain chocolate thins with a pepermint fondant filling .
The manufacturers Nestle , further expanded this product range with a whitechocolate thin , again with peppermint filling , and subsequently entered the luxury ice cream market with the AfterEight ice cream block .
Now Nestle have unleashed the AfterEight collection , a 150g box containing a unique collection of dark and whitechocolates , not forgetting the trademark peppermint flavour .
Being a self-confessed chocoholic , I just had to try them , but what did I think of them ?

The box is of two parts , rather than the more usual flip lid construction and the traditional dark green livery is evident ...
Advantages: Luxurious plain chocolate egg just like the mint Disadvantages: So very expensive & not as nice as the traditional version
I apologize in advance for a review on a Nestlé product (boo, hiss I hear you cry), as I know a lot of you operate in a Nestlé Free Zone. However, having tried the AfterEight Mini Eggs - I couldn't resist reviewing them.
~HISTORY~
The traditional AfterEightmintchocolate has been around for over 40 years now. They were launched in 1962 by Rowntree as an upmarket post-prandial mint for the ever popular sixties dinner party. Of course, Rowntree were taken over by the evil Nestlé group many years ago and nowadays they produce 1.3 billion AfterEightmints every year. And in their conquest to rule the world, there are all sorts of other AfterEight variants on the market nowadays...whiteAfterEightchocolates, orange AfterEightchocolates, AfterEight ice cream, big AfterEight easter eggs and mini AfterEight easter eggs ...
