***** Nestle first started as a food production company is Switzerland way back in the 1960s, and made its way to the UK in the early 1900s. Though, they did not start to churn out Cheerios until 1941. Over the years, it has gradually changed its image, with new and exciting packaging to appeal to the target-market and decade, as well as becoming increasingly healthy! Now with their most recent promotions and great flavour, they are not only enjoyed in the UK, but globally too, and I am proud to admit that I am just one of the many people who tuck into a scrumptious bowl of Nestle Cheerios for my breakfast!
Cheerios are made from four different whole-grain cereal grains, and are in the shape of 'O's. They are slightly varied in colour; a range of pale browns and beige. Being a breakfast cereal, they are generally served up in a bowl with milk (!), though it is quite known, especially when shown on their promotional television adverts, that these are enjoyed by the handful, dry.
It's food; of course the whole eating experience is important! Normally, the first thing you can notice about cereal is the aroma let off, but Cheerios do not have much of a smell to them. If you sniff really hard, really concentrating, you can get a slightly sweet whiff, but nothing extreme! The taste itself is quite unique; nothing overly powerful, yet they are not dull either! Each 'O' is packed with flavour, slightly sweet but not too sugary. They do have a slightly bland taste at the same time, it really is phenomenal! As for the texture, well I know a lot of people can be fussy when this issue is raised! I seem to be one of the few people I know that actually enjoys soggy breakfast cereal, though I do like it fresh and 'crunchy' too! To start with, Cheerios are exceptionally dry and crisp, creating such a noise when munching away. As you get nearer to the bottom of the bowl though, they do turn slightly softer, but never seem to go too soggy that they cannot be stomached! Once finished and you are left with that little dribble of milk, I wouldn't advise you slurp this up; it's far too sweet and revolting!
In my opinion, the over-all experience of devouring a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast is fantastic, and is a delicious and healthy way to start the day!
*oOo* Other Products *oOo* This is a review on the traditional Cheerios breakfast cereal, but Nestle have also provided the nation with a more sweet Honey Nut Cheerios option; little 'O's much darker in brown, made with honey and almonds. I'm not a massive fan of this one, but it's certainly not the worst! There are also snacking options available to purchase; Cheerios cereal bars with a thin 'milk' layer across the bottom, in a traditional and Honey Nut range. I've tried the traditional ones of these, and they are delightful!

Nutrition
Branded as a healthy cereal, I did not expect there to be much in the way of nutrition in Cheerios, but was I right?
There seems to be more ingredients than I expected, and I think the sweet sensation has been explained there! The calorific content is reasonable, but the sugar level is quite high! I am truly amazed by how much fibre is present, not what I expected at all! A recommended portion size is 30g, so dividing it up, the contents is not that extreme!
Would I Recommend?
The target-market for Cheerios aims the cereal at the whole family, and I could not agree with Nestle more! Because the taste is so basic, it would apply to those who do not really like chocolate cereals etc (such as myself), but because there is a slight sweet and sugary flavour hidden there too, it's great for younger children, or those with a sweet-tooth!
A bowl of Cheerios in the morning is a great way to kick-start your day, providing you with plenty of energy to keep you in motion and 'activate' your brain! Also, we as a nation do not intake enough fibre on a daily basis, which is important to ensure healthy bowel movement, so not only will Cheerios make you feel fuller for longer and prevent snacking, but it will ensure your 'insides' are happier too!
I would most definitely recommend Nestle Cheerios to everybody!
***** I didn't eat a lot of Cheerios when I was younger; I was more a fan of the smaller cereals like Rice Krispies and Coco Pops. As I have aged though, I find myself eating more of them, my tastes moving further and further away from sweet cereals. They aren't a cereal I have often, but when I do get a craving for them, it does not take me long to munch my way through a box with addiction! Though, I'm not a lover of eating they dry; I prefer them served up in a bowl with milk!
The Honey Nut ones are ok too, but I find them quite sugary and too much for me as a morning cereal. Though, I can eat them later on in the day a lot more easily! As for the cereal bars, again not ones I'd have much as they are far too full of sugar, and are incredibly sickly and sticky!
When I compare Cheerios to the other cereals I enjoy at this moment (i.e. Branflakes, Special K, Rice Krispies), there does not seem much difference in the way of nutrition and health. Though based purely on taste, Cheerios come quite near the top of the list! I am almost finished my box now, but I don't think I will purchase another straight away; I fancy sampling something new. Perhaps in a months' time I shall be finding myself cramming yet another box into the shopping trolley!
Cheerios are truly a delicious and healthy breakfast cereal; Nestle have ticked all the right boxes for me with this one!
Advantages: The kids like them and they contain whole grain Disadvantages: Added sugar
Every morning when I wake up the first thing I have on my mind is breakfast. Recently I have found that my 2 youngest daughters are the same. At about 7 o clock every morning there is a mad rush in to the kitchen to find what there is to eat. I am normally a toast kind of person but all my girls love their cereals. Normally we have Corn Flakes or Rice Crispies. However on a recent shopping trip my attention was drawn to the fact that Asda had a special ... ...is normally £1.55). At first I refused to buy them as I did not think that the kids would eat them, but after half an hour of begging and pleading I gave in.
The Cheerios are in a very distinctive box. I bought a 375g box (they also have 500g boxes). The box is mainly white with the Cheerios Logo on the front written in purple. The O of the word is in red and the i is dotted with a cheerio. The box itself is full of information. The main bit of ...

Advantages: Quite tasty, nice for a change. Disadvantages: Go soggy very quickly in milk.
The good thing about having children is that it allows you to have variety in your food, rather than eating the same thing day in day out. Sometimes this is a good thing and sometimes not, as the things that kids like more often than not are fattening and not very good for my figure.
As far as breakfasts are concerned though, I always have my Special K with red berries. Why? Because I love them. We do not all eat the same things for breakfast, however. ... ...3 year old daughter always has her Weetabix and flavour of the week with my son is Nestle Cheerios. I had never tried Cheerios before and thought it was time to give them a try.
The pack I bought was £1.54 for a 375g box (very reasonably priced in comparison to other cereals) and they are widely available at supermarkets. I cannot guarantee you will get them in local shops as these seem to specialise in the more popular brands of cornflakes, frosties, ...

~ ~ You could never accuse the mad cabbie of being the healthiest eater in the world. I’m too fond of the old frying pan, and like nothing better than sitting down of a morning and eating a good, old-fashioned fry up for my breakfast. Rashers, (the Irish name for bacon) sausages, black pudding, eggs, mushrooms, and fried bread, all liberally salted and with a dash of HP sauce is my idea of breakfast heaven. Throw in lashings of hot, thickly ... ...Columbian coffee, (see my opinion) and I’m set up perfectly for the day ahead.
~ ~ But every now and again time doesn’t allow for the leisurely breakfast that I enjoy so much, and I have to resort to toast and cereal.
Up until recently, my breakfast cereal of choice would have been either Weetabix or Cornflakes. But thanks to the wee lass, I now have another cereal that I thoroughly enjoy.
It’s Cheerios, the breakfast cereal ...

I'm not the sort of person to eat breakfast in the morning, but being on a kind of health kick. I thought it was time to sort out my diet.
I have been going to the gym now for about two and a half months and the weight is begining to drop off me, but I don't think this is enough as I have been dieting with slimfast and other healthy eating foods.
The real thing to do as we all know is to get into a sensible eating habit. Breakfast, Dinner and Tea, ... ...determined to get my eating habits in order I trotted off to the supermarket and stood on the cereal aisle for about 10 mins, looking at all the types of cereal available.
If you look at the packets they all tell you they are the one for you, the best vitamins and minerals and the best start to the day, so as I decided to grab these Cheerios and head off home.
Cheerios are sold in a cardboard package, they have a rainbow of four colours, red, green, ...

Baby killers. What’s that all about then? Well, read on through this opinion and you’ll find out!

Advantages: convenient, tasty, high in calcium Disadvantages: very sweet, not very filling
At the start I should say that I don't consider cereal bars to be a breakfast. I need something far more substantial to get me started in the mornings and tend to go for cereal or toast. However I find cereal bars to be a perfect mid-morning snack. The kind of thing to have on your break with a cup of tea. And with this purpose in mind I bought a box of NestleCheerios Cereal and Milk bar.
They cost me £1.32 for a box of 6 bars from Sainsburys and I have seen them for a similar price in other supermarkets. This price compares well with other similar products in the Supermarket. Each box contains 6x 22g bars.
The packaging is mainly white with Cheerios in big letters across and a picture of one of the bars. Under the picture and taking up about 1/4 of the space they tell you that each bar contains the same amount of calcium as 1 ...
Advantages: Tasty, low in cals, high in calcuim Disadvantages: i cannot just eat the one
As i cannot drink milk(it gives me mygraines) i do worry about eating enough calcuim and staying healthy etc.I cannot eat a nice bowl of cerael with ice cold milk as my head would explode with pain.I have been taking calcuim pills in the past but thought there must be a more enjoyable way to obtain my daily quota of calcuim.
I do like cereal bars and when i was in Spain, i saw a new brand on the shelf. As i bought a pack and really liked them, as soon as i came home i went to Tescos and hunted them out hoping they had them too.
I saw them on the shelf and thought"yessss".They set me back o.99p and NestleCheerios Cereal and Milk Bars come in a pleasant looking box.Its white with Cheerios in big purple writing on the front of the box and Nestle in red writing in the top left of the box.At the bottom it states each bar has as much ...
Advantages: tasty ,quick, easy to eat. Disadvantages: sticks to teeth.
not say it's a substitute for breakfast but tastes great and is quick to eat.
For people like me who have given up smoking it's a nice treat without too many calories. But if you do take this in your packed lunch I would advise to take your toothbrush.
