...Lotus notes R5, is a big player in the e-mail market, but notes is not just e-mail, its a database, the e-mail is treated as as a databse, in comparison to R4 it is visually radically different, but effectivly it is the same, from a developers perspective, it is more intuative, and javascript is native to it. communication with the server is quicker, and there are many smaller advantages, which help it keep up with current technologies. You can even use webbrowsers to connect to the server, which makes the client side more universal and cheaper, but you do loose minor functionality. Web design is a breeze with R5, and because the backend is a database it is perfect for data collection, its security is powerfull, and excellent for e-commerce. you won't get hit with the love bug virus with notes!!!!...
