Combining revolutionary simplicity, business-class performance, and affordability, the Netopia R910 Ethernet Router allows multiple users to securely access the Internet through a single DSL or Cable modem. The R910 protects a local area network (LAN) from unauthorized access and attacks with a built-in Firewall. Integrated Secure VPN allows remote users, remote offices, and trusted business partners to access the LAN from anywhere on the Internet using a secure, encrypted tunnel. Best of all, Netopia?s implementation of Secure VPN uses the built-in VPN client included with Microsoft Windows. The R910 Router includes an integrated 4-port Ethernet hub for connecting workstations, servers or printers. Integrated Network Address Translation (NAT) and robust Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support allow both the R910 Router and LAN to be fully configured without entering IP addresses. Netopia also includes Dynamic MultiNAT, which provides support for dynamic use of ISP-provided IP addresses for multimedia applications. Only Netopia takes such powerful business-class features and makes them so easy-to-use and affordable. The R910 router was designed to work only with firmware versions 4.8 or later.
Advantages: ease of setup, reliable connection Disadvantages: not the fastest on the market
...When looking to go wireless in the computer world it is an absolute minefield when it comes to wireless routers/modems. I sat at my latop(tethered to the telephone socket with wires) scouring google for write ups about this router and that router when i came across this one. Now this is rated as being the best selling router/modem in the UK and has been for some time. I think i paid around £40 from ebuyer.com. I chose it because of the fact its reasonably priced. Its a good trustworthy brand and it seemed to come up to scratch on speed.
Upon opening the box the installation was very simple indeed. I just followed the instructions that came with the router and hey prsto i was wireless on my laptop.Software is easy to install and self explanatory. Its not the fastest band of router on the market but for what i needed it was ample...

...We'd wanted to upgrade our router for a while to cope with Rich playing on his Xbox online mainly as we kept getting lag, which was especially apparent if I was also browsing the net (which I generally was) even to the point of Rich being disconnected mid game. He was getting annoyed with it so when we saw this router on offer at ebuyer.com for £69.99 (but has since gone back up to its previous price of £89.99); I jumped at the chance to get it and now we have it, I thought it was worth writing a review about, so here we are!
My review will be based on my experience of the router, and not a full technological break down of what it is capable of etc as that is readily available online from the manufacturer and would probably bore most people to tears anyway.
The first thing I notice when opening the box is how big the router is...

...DRAYTEK VIGOR 2950 ENTERPRISE FIREWALL
The Draytek Vigor 2950 Enterprise Firewall is a hardware firewall and router aimed at medium sized to large businesses. I’ve set up and am using six of these routers at a certain company with offices around London and have been using them for a few years now and was done as an upgrade from the Draytek Vigor 2600 and 2800 routers that were previously in use. The reason for the upgrade to the 2950 was due to the VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection being slow with the previous models. This was probably due to the processor in the router not being powerful enough to encrypt and decrypt the data more quickly. The 2950 has a dedicated co-processor just for the VPN, so performance would be better. It costs around £320 but price varies from supplier to supplier.
