3 year WG111T user + Vista x64 fix.
Review of Netgear WG111T Super-G Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter by
NeoNMD
Advantages: When its setup, it works to expectations.
Disadvantages: NO x64 bit support but there is a fix inside this review.
...was originally purchased with a Netgear WGT624 router and it was a bundle, but individually it was around £20 at the time from PC world.
Generally it works all day quite happily but after about an hour of heavy use it will start to cut out because it overheats. And when it overheats you will have to unplug it (which is uncomfortable because its so hot) Yes there are times I have fallen out with it or it didnt feel like re-installing after a re-format ... ...x64 bit drivers for any Netgear product.
After much thought about weather to buy a Belkin or Linksys wireless card, I though I would give it one last go at getting the WG111T to work. And in my thought process I realised that Drivers are more or less independant of weather its 32 or 64 bit so the problem lies with the software so if you are willing, patient and have some Vista experiance you can get a WG111T to work.
Guide to making WG111T work ...

This card DOES IT!!
Review of Sonnet Aria extreme Network adapter by
kevinkendall
Advantages: Installation: Just plug it in!
Disadvantages: No user manual.
...I decided to buy the Sonnet Aria Extreme PCMCIA card.
Very good choice I made.
What surprised me most is how seamlessly it integrated into my OS (I combo-updated to Tiger's max, v10.4.11). And it WORKED, first time!
A few days later I DL'd the tiny (7K, believe it or not! A welcome ANOMALY these days!) freeware "Broadband Optimizer", by enigmarelle.com, for the purpose of making sure that Tiger can handle the g-speeds that the Aria card is capable ...

The perfect router
Review of Netgear WG602 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point by
calumneilson
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, many features, secure, small, good looking
Disadvantages: None
I had this router for well over two years and in that time it worked brilliantly.
It is easy to set up, you just plug it in then use your web browser to go to the control panel, not installation or software is needed.
You can manage the many settings inside the control panel. You can change all the huge amount of features such as security, encryption, two firewalls and many more features.
You can easily use this router for home servers using port ... ...using the managment interface.
It is easy to upgrade to the newest firmware, which is advisable. Since the newest versions are more secure and generally better.
Only in the end did this reliable router break down during a thunderstorm, but it went with my computer, printer and other stuff (so it wasn't the router's fault).
Overall this is really great value for money, even for limited computer users. ...

Wireless in a Stick
Review of ZyXEL ZyAIR G-202 by
AlastairI
Advantages: small, easy to use, easy to install, user friendly
Disadvantages: range is not as good as a router
...I'm very impressed with the Zyxel USB stick, I have a wireless set up in my house but one of my PCs did not have a wireless card. This is an extremely cheap alernative to fitting a card and ideal for those who don't want to, or don't know how to open up the PC and install them.
Zyxel have made a stylish little USB device with a very easy to use software interface. Literally within minutes you are up and running and able to connect to any wireless ... ...router you can use the Zyxel for this purpose. Setting it to AP mode and setting it up with or without password protection you can then have other people connect to your network through their wireless devices. Perfect for households with more than one PC user who wish to hop onto the internet.
Of course the range is not as complete as a full blown wireless router, but for use in a smaller household or section it's a fantastic piece of kit.
Lovely ...

Fast and easy wireless
Review of NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless PC Card WPN511 by
C-J-C
Advantages: Fast, Easy installation, small, built in aerial
Disadvantages: None
...a wireless card. Having a Netgear router, I decided to go for a Netgear card, and came away with the WPN511. Netgear is also a respected and trusted name in networking for homes and businesses, with a reputation for simple, functional and good value products.
The card itself is roughly credit card size, and about 5mm thick, with a roughly 30mm extension on the end that sticks out of the computer and contains the aerial and some lights. It is very ... ...a little harder with none Netgear networks, although wireless standards are all compatible, so it will work. It allows full use of most current wireless networks, with speeds of up to 108Mbps. Range depends on the router, and also environmental factors, but seems good. The router is in one of the front bedrooms, yet I've never had a problem accessing the network in the back garden. Again, I expect best results would be achieved with a Netgear router ...
