The perfect router
Review of Netgear WG602 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point by
calumneilson
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, many features, secure, small, good looking
Disadvantages: None
I had this router for well over two years and in that time it worked brilliantly.
It is easy to set up, you just plug it in then use your web browser to go to the control panel, not installation or software is needed.
You can manage the many settings inside the control panel. You can change all the huge amount of features such as security, encryption, two firewalls and many more features.
You can easily use this router for home servers using port ... ...using the managment interface.
It is easy to upgrade to the newest firmware, which is advisable. Since the newest versions are more secure and generally better.
Only in the end did this reliable router break down during a thunderstorm, but it went with my computer, printer and other stuff (so it wasn't the router's fault).
Overall this is really great value for money, even for limited computer users. ...

Wireless in a Stick
Review of ZyXEL ZyAIR G-202 by
AlastairI
Advantages: small, easy to use, easy to install, user friendly
Disadvantages: range is not as good as a router
...I'm very impressed with the Zyxel USB stick, I have a wireless set up in my house but one of my PCs did not have a wireless card. This is an extremely cheap alernative to fitting a card and ideal for those who don't want to, or don't know how to open up the PC and install them.
Zyxel have made a stylish little USB device with a very easy to use software interface. Literally within minutes you are up and running and able to connect to any wireless ... ...router you can use the Zyxel for this purpose. Setting it to AP mode and setting it up with or without password protection you can then have other people connect to your network through their wireless devices. Perfect for households with more than one PC user who wish to hop onto the internet.
Of course the range is not as complete as a full blown wireless router, but for use in a smaller household or section it's a fantastic piece of kit.
Lovely ...

Fast and easy wireless
Review of NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless PC Card WPN511 by
C-J-C
Advantages: Fast, Easy installation, small, built in aerial
Disadvantages: None
...a wireless card. Having a Netgear router, I decided to go for a Netgear card, and came away with the WPN511. Netgear is also a respected and trusted name in networking for homes and businesses, with a reputation for simple, functional and good value products.
The card itself is roughly credit card size, and about 5mm thick, with a roughly 30mm extension on the end that sticks out of the computer and contains the aerial and some lights. It is very ... ...a little harder with none Netgear networks, although wireless standards are all compatible, so it will work. It allows full use of most current wireless networks, with speeds of up to 108Mbps. Range depends on the router, and also environmental factors, but seems good. The router is in one of the front bedrooms, yet I've never had a problem accessing the network in the back garden. Again, I expect best results would be achieved with a Netgear router ...

Touch and Go....
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by
Karlina12
Advantages: Easy USB connection
Disadvantages: Very unreliable
...for wireless card.
The Belkin USB Network Adapator, fails to impress as a secondary option on the less used computer. It never automatically detects upon start up, it usually takes three or four attempts (unplugging and replugging) to actually detect our network. Other computers on the network, with internal cards have no problem with detecting and getting us online straight away, but the belkin usb network adapter just doesn't appear to have the ... ...you are a casual user and don't expect your internet connection to fire up first time AND don't tend to stay online very long it will probably be quite a good buy, however for a few pounds more I would recommend going with something else which has far better reviews... ...

belkin 54g router.
Review of Belkin 54g Wireless Cable/DSL Router by
gregory-j
Advantages: durable.
Disadvantages: can cut out without warning leaving you to troubleshooting it.
The belkin 54g wireless router is very good when it comes to a strong signal, yet i still find it immensly annoying!!! When its running smoothly, it is no problem what so ever, but every now and then, maybe once every week or so, the signal will cut out for no reason and you will find yourself VERY frustrated when trying to retrieve it. apart from this minor annoyance, the belkin is generally a very good piece of kit for your money. I payed around ... ...plastic and cheap. the belkin is very easy to use and can easily be reset with the little push button on the back if it does decide to go a bit off the rails. its easy to set up and get running ASAP. and easy to set up privacy walls and security. the speed that the belkin 54g router generally runs at is anything from 30-50mbps depending on your network provider. the belkin 54g is probably one of the best on the market for your money, but i think ...
