Powerful wee bit of kit that can see round corners
Review of D-Link RangeBooster N USB Adapter DWA-140 by
sadoldbag
Advantages: Works at long range, easy to install, powerful
Disadvantages: Bit more expensive than some
...around. Fortunately it did.
D-link are a reliable manufacturer of wireless products and I've bought several things from them. Our router was D-link, which might affect the quality of the improvement - perhaps it helps to have both router and adapter from the same company. It worked in the USB port of the PC, was reasonably quick to set up and install and it could be encrypted in both WEP and WPA. It guided through everything so I think quite an ... ...* D-Link Wireless Manager for easy access to frequently accessed networks
* Plug and play installation in local language
(taken from their blurb)
In summary, I'm happy with it - it let us do what we wanted to do in the house, was easy to install and use, and is pretty powerful. Given what we needed, it was worth paying the extra price for, as we needed it to keep a strong signal downstairs and round a corner from the router. If you only want to ...

D-Link Bluetooth Adapter can make you happier
Review of D-Link PersonalAir DBT-122 by
cam3lot
Advantages: Saves you money, quick transfer from one device to another...
Disadvantages: None till now...
...write some words about it.
D-Link DBT-122 USB Bluetooth Adapter it is a very helpful tool for those people who'd like to transfer some files from one machine to another. Me I use it to transfer mp3 music from my PC to my telephone.
I bought this small item from www.expansys.com.cy and I paid for it only £12, a bit expensive but what's cheap today? It came in a very big box (I really don't understand why it has to be so big) which had inside:
- ... ...recordings. To connect D-Link Bluetooth Adapter with another Bluetooth Device, you have to follow some small easy steps:
- if you have a phone which has Bluetooth, activate it;
- go on the toolbar and look for the Bluetooth icon (this shortcut was automatically made during the installation), once you found it - click the right button from your mouse, go on Quick Connect > Bluetooth Serial Port > Find devices. - when the device will be found you ...

WhyFi?
Review of D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DWL G132 by
tektonnic
Advantages: Fast, Solid Performer
Disadvantages: Chunky
...this is relevent because this D-Link adapter is surprisingly one of the few 3rd party wifi adapters which work with both Windows XP and Mac OS X.
Aesthetically its a grey block, about 1cm deep and 5cm long, so quite a chunky little package, which has led to it hitting things when moved and led to the adapter becoming bent, although surprisingly resiliant to break and is still fully functional. It has 2 LEDs, one displaying whether the adapter is ... ...indicate whether the adapter is active.
It connects via USB and works on both 2.0 and 1.0 standards, therefore should work on all USB enabled computers. It is packaged with the correct software and is really easy to install. It operates at the fastest current general WiFi standard, Wireless-G. ...

G650+ G520+ and their US counterparts
Review of D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G+ DWL-G650+ by
D-Kill
Advantages: good performance
Disadvantages: no linux support *** no 108Mbps
...Apparently, these are the versions D-Link reserves for out-side the US. Trying to upgrade to 108Mbps as promised in the adds was unsuccessful. I didn't even find any info on the G650+ cards on the .COM website. Mails to D-Link remained unanswered. After some research in the newsgroups, I found out the following :
The DWL-G650+ and DWL-520+ are using a different chipset than the G650 (the "+" is very important). You will not find this info on the ... ...1:because the G650+ uses a cheaper chipset (Motorola) it has currently no 108Mbps support as its bigger brother does (G650, no "+").
2:because of this chipset it has a very poor support on linux. So if one intends to use this card with linux - guess again and try some other card.
When going to the European websites one finds more info on "+" and not the performant ones. ...
