Review of Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Adapter by
Lfw86
Advantages: Fast transfer rate, reliable
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
The Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter came built in to my pc, and I wouldn't want to replace it.
It provides a fast, reliable connection. Was easy to connect to and set up a connection with other pc's, laptop's, etc.
Great for gamers or business' that require wired link up between machines, servers or both. Felt like the data transfer was instant, so was perfect for backing up data from one machine onto another
Driver's are very easy ...

The WAP is dead, long live the WAP
Review of Linksys Wireless-G Access Point WAP54G by
JeffFromPoole
Advantages: Fast, easy to configure, reasonable price for a Wireless Access Point
Disadvantages: slight snag in set up. Easily resolved
My dearly beloved Linksys WAP11b passed on this week. At the request of the family there were no flowers but a small celebration was held to remember a long and hard working life and the opportunity to get a new one. Including VAT and delivery, for £48.15 , Novatech.co.uk sent me one of these little charmers. Let me explain my home setup:
The ADSL line starts at my phone line and passes through a Linksys ADSL ethernet ... ...the FAQ section of the Linksys website (Now you see why I like to have all the units separate) and I found the cause.
They mention that some cordless phones use the same 2.4 Ghz radio frequency as the WAP and to try changing the channel. They also mentioned that the default was 6, so back into the setup utility and change it from 11 to 6, where it should have been in the first place. as soon as I did this and closed the setup program, my wireless ...

Linksys WPC54G Notebook Adapter Review
Review of Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G by
sunny_boy
Advantages: Easy to install, use and configure.
Disadvantages: Gets hot after a while of constant use.
...my laptop and bought my Linksys WRT54G Wireless Broadband Router, I needed to add wireless functionality to my laptop - that unfortunately wasn't powered by the Intel Centrino technology that has now been introduced. Seeing as I bought a Linksys router, I went ahead and bought a Linksys wireless adapter as well.
The Packaging - The product is neatly packaged and very well protected in an anti-static pouch and is snuggled in it's plastic tray. All ... ...Windows Update, only through the Linksys website.
The Product - Where the product protrudes from the laptop, it has 2 LEDs that show when it's powered on and when it's transferring data. This can be handy to check when the network is actually working, but I've found that in certain lights, the LEDs don't seem to be bright enough and therefore fail to complete their function. Also on this black protrudance is the Linksys logo. I've found that this ...

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Review of Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection by
123fearnley
Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Cheap adapter.
Disadvantages: Only provides 802.11 a/b/g, whereas N is much faster for not much money.
...I chose to go for Intel this time, a great choice!
This card is much more reliable in terms of not dropping the signal, and, I find that I get a better overall reception, boosting speeds everywhere.
For the convenience that this card gives, it is a great buy, if your note book has the port for one, it is much better than an external wireless adapter, just because it is hidden away inside the case, not adding any extra bulk to your notebook.
Installation ...

Wireless Usb 54Mbps G Compact
Review of Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter WUSB54GC by
Jar_Dude
Advantages: Plug and play, easy to use.
Disadvantages: It is external, meaning not inside your computer.
...breaking, or being lost. Linksys is the leading networking brand and is very reliable, and there when you need it. The software provided gives you an easy to use network monitor which gives you the option to connect to what network you wish, save the network as a profile, and show the best link connection/speed. It has support for USB 2.0 and also USB 1.1 so it will work great on older computers. It is compatible with Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP, ...
