This is Belkin useless!
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by Ant309

Advantages: Small, Cheap.
Disadvantages: Fragile, unreliable, bad instructions, crap software, useless extension lead.

Sorry about the ridiculously bad title. I've had this thing for about a year now. I had no clue about these things as I had not had wireless internet beforehand. I payed £25 for mine (I think) and it is the 54mbps version. So.... *+*+*SETUP*+*+* The adaptor comes in a little box with a set of very un-useful instructions, and and installation disc, fair enough. All setup, fine with alot of guessing work because the instructions and the installation ...
...though, all you do is plug it into a USB port, simple. *+*+*CONNECTION*+*+* I was expecting a solid connection just like the sort I would get with a wired connection. But me no get. This adapter is so inconsistant its the Gordon Brown of Wireless Adapters. It often disconnects. It has even uninstalled itself from the computer at one time. *+*+*(UN)RELIABLITY*+*+* As I've mentioned the signal is very unconsistent. But I've also noticed how weak ... Read review

A netgear experience
Review of Netgear WG111 Wireless-G USB 2.0 Adapter by Stanislav69

Advantages: Good download speed, quick and easy to set up
Disadvantages: Ovrheating, and bad uploading speeds (for games)

The price may look big at first but it is good value for money. It only takes a matter of minutes to set up and the installation facility can be introduced in many different languages. The only downside I have ever found with this product is extreme over heating if you leave it plugged in for too long. This can eventually lead to damage of the circuit boards which happened to mine so in a year you might have to get a replacement. I have had this ... Read review

WARNING - STEER CLEAR IF YOU HAVE VISTA!
Review of Belkin N1 Wireless USB Adapter by shpongled

Advantages: Looks cool...
Disadvantages: Incompatible with Vista / Belkin N1 Router with WPA security!!!

...connect. Ok, so the Belkin Wireless utility doesn't work, hmm, try the network icon in the system tray. Choose the relevant network, type in the security key - 'Connecting is taking longer than usual'. No IP address is assigned.... And I am trying to connect this to a BELKIN N1 ROUTER!! Now after checking online I discover there is no certified release software as yet for Vista, only a pre-release beta that you 'install and use at your own risk' ...
...as I don't have an XP machine to try it on any more, but it is therefore USELESS for what I need it for until Belkin pull their fingers out and sort out some Vista drivers that fix the rather serious bugs present. Going back to Netgear! ... Read review

Getting Screwed
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter Network adapter by donf18

Advantages: Does a great job
Disadvantages: Filling Mr Gates pockets again

...WiFi dongle, but thanks to Microsoft and Mr Gates unless you are extremely knowledgeable about WiFi and the Xbox you will require a Microsoft specific WiFi dongle such as is described in this products listing. This dongle is going to cost you in the region of £55 so Bill has just screwed you out of £35 smackeroonies. That aside this Microsoft official product is simplicity in motion when it does come to connecting your Xbox to the net. The small ...
...one end of it, and an antenna at the other. Raise the antenna and plug in the USB connecter to the rear left of your Xbox. The unit is going to allow you to do things like play streaming video from websites. More importantly for gamers you will now be able to join the many gaming communities and participate in live tournaments, thus testing you skill against real opponents rather than AI ones. A simple set up process to get the device talking to ... Read review

Why choose Belkin??
Review of Belkin Wireless G Universal Range Extender/Access Point by brianatimmons

Advantages: fast connection speed, reliable
Disadvantages: setting up

In my opinion Belkin routers are the best make. It supplys a good streanth of wireless internet signal arround my home and the signal, very rarely breaks up.Like many other routers. It can be quite hard to set up but the instruction manual helps. On the back there a about four or five ports one connects to your internet supply cable and the others allow you to connect cables to other pcs or laptops which do not have the wireless feature. The internet ...
...speed to a large extent. Once it has been set up you have no more work to do and it is very easy to use . It is quite cheap roughly about £30 to £40. If you have a laptop which you need to use around the home and yet connect to the internet this is the router for you. ... Read review
