...The Videologic homec@m is a USB camera, it comes with PC drivers, a stand or clip for mounting in different positions, and a built in microphone so that you can record audio with your video clips. The driver CD also has a load of useful apps on it allowing you to capture clips to avi files, or even setup your own realtime webcam. Installation is straightforward - plug it in, put the cd in the rom drive and you're off ... easy as pie. Ive set up a webcam (www.bigwig.net\dfrazer\webcam) of me at work which autoupdates every 2mins with the free spycam app supplied on the disk. A 640x480 image is taken and automatically uploaded via spycam's built in ftp client direct to the webpage server, all i had to do was upload a html page which displays the captured and uploaded image - nice.... Advantages: Good amount of sourtcut keys, stylish, and feels quality
Disadvantages: can accedentally press the side sortcut keys

The side buttons I mentioned, sometimes do get pressed and causes apps to start up, but only if you pick it up from the sides. Advantages: Screen good in all light, Lightning Fast, Works with Outlook and Office apps, Palm Reader makes ebooks very easy to read, can fit a huge ammount of information in 32Mb
Disadvantages: The lack of a cradle and case are the only cons, but at this price you can't complain too much.

...I purchased my Tungsten E online from comet, i paid £138 inc delivery, the best price on the web. (Dec 2003) When it arrived i charged it for 3 hours then installed the apps from the install CD, this took about 1 hour and was fairly easy, for Outlook 2003 users you need to download a patch for the Outlook conduit software, the Java runtime too was downloaded from the net, so an internet cnx is definately required at install time. The palm comes with the core apps (contacts, calander, tasks, notes, expenses etc) pre loaded and the additional apps (documents to go, acrobat reader, mobile db, media player, real one etc) are installed from CD, you can install the apps you need and maximise the storage space for your data by not installing uneeded apps. The included apps do most things i need, i have downloaded quite a few freeware palm... Read review
