I am always trying different moisturisers, but have found Neutrogena to be one of the best for my skin. All Neutrogena products are dermatologist tested so I would consider them to be good for sensitive skin. My Mum recommended Neutrogena to me. She has had very sensitive skin for many years. Now using only Neutrogena products for her face, she reports that it is better than it ever has been. For my Birthday in November, I asked my sister for Neutrogena products. I already used the handcream which was good. She gave me a selection which included Neutrogena Comfort Balm.
The Balm is contained within a white pot with a blue screw off lid which holds 200ml. As many of the Neutrogena products are, it is Norwegian Formula. It is described as a comfort balm, soft moisturising cream, claiming to be fast absorbing. I have been using it on my face, but am suprised to see that it is recommended for face and body. I know face cream can go on the body, but often cream that is good for moisturising the body, is far too rich for the face. Also, I wouldn`t waste face cream on the body as it is generally more expensive and there is less of it. It states that it is `the richness of a cream in an instantly absorbing balm especially developed for dry and sensitive skin`. It offers 24 hour moisturisation and no sticky afterfeel, immediately comforting your skin.
What does it Feel Like? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
We had a lovely week last week, the sun was out, it was much warmer, I even took one of my horse`s rugs off and it seemed as if the winter may be over. My skin was better, I felt better, life was great. This week, my horses are back in their thick rugs, it is cold, there is snow on the moor and there are dry patches of skin on my face. The skin always tends to flake at the corner of my mouth for some reason in really cold weather which is annoying. Also, prior to cleansing my face this evening (well not quite, cleansing wipes) I touched my forehead and to my horror, the skin was peeling off a bit there. I always remember to moisturise my forehead, but I have a fringe, I must not give it as much attention as the other parts of my face.
I used Neutrogena cleansing wipes to clean my face first and then applied to Neutrogena Comfort Balm. The cream is cream, not lotion, reasonably thick cream though not as thick as body butter though I wouldn`t expect it to be). It is white in colour with a very mild fragrance to it. The cream sinks in very easily indeed, it is almost instantly absorbed by the skin, requiring very little rubbing in indeed. After applying it to my face, it feels very soft, immediately after application. The skin on my forehead feels better already as well as my dry patches. My skin really does feel soft and smooth.
24 Hours. * * * * * * * *
The Comfort Balm claims to offer 24 hour moisturisation, but I always try to cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day. The dry areas, I have already applied the Comfort Balm to twice and I must admit, they are all feeling less dry and are blending in to the rest of my face. Neutrogena Comfort Balm is formualted for dry skin. I have not been using it all of the time, so it can`t be blamed for my skin feeling dry. As I already explained, the weather and my fringe are to blame for this. The Balm has offered instant relief, making my skin feel soft and smooth.
Sensitve Skin. * * * * * * * * * * *
I have slightly sensitive skin and it has not caused my skin any problem at all, in fact it has made it feel better. My Mums skin is so sensitive that there are very few creams that she can use without irritation. The fact that she is convinced that her skin has never felt better, must be a recommendation for people to try if they have sensitive skin.
Body. * * * * *
I have used the Comfort Balm on my body now. It is absorbed just as quickly and moisturises. Personally I prefer a cream of a thicker consistency for the body, but it is still good.
Do I recommend? * * * * * * * * * * * * *
I recommend Neutrogena Comfort Balm to those who want their skin to feel soft and smooth. It is calming and soothing for skin that has been out in all the elements. I like to use it when my skin is red from the wind. At £4.25 a 200ml pot it is not expensive and being in a pot,it is possible to use every last drop. It can be bought at chemists and supermarkets. If I am going to be picky, I do prefer a moisturiser that has a built in SPF, otherwise it is too easy to neglect your face from sun protection. I always put sunscreen on in summer, but in winter, the sun can be quite bright and it can get overlooked, so I think that if a moistriser offers protection against the sun, then it is a good thing. This is not a criticism though, it is a really good, affordable, moisturiser.
Advantages: Comforting, Revitalising, Refreshing, Protects Skin from the Elements Disadvantages: None
I first tried Neutrogena Comfort Balm after getting a free sample in a woman's glossy magazine; the sachet showed a picture of the pot the product came in and the blurb on the back informed me that this was a moisturizing product for dry skin suitable for use on the face, hands and body; a balm that feels like a lotion. This brand new product is currently advertised on television as offering 'Sheer comfort for even the driest skin' and features a ... ...hug every now and then. Neutrogena products are all formulated by Dermatologists so you know you are getting a product that will actual live up to its promises - its like a prescription medicine for your skin.
The product has a very mild pleasant scent and despite its protective qualities is very easily absorbed into the skin. I found it a very effective facial moisturiser and also rubbed it all over my body; it is so smooth it makes you feel really ...

...have always sworn by the Neutrogena range. Oilatum works well enough, but it's a hassle to go to my doctor's for a prescription every time I run out and I can't find in the normal shops. If I use cheaper alternatives made for ordinary skin, I start to get scuzzy red patches and I look like I have dessicated coconut stuck to my face. Not nice, is it?!
I have always used Neutrogena's Protective Day and Night creams but when I saw their new Comfort ... ...quickly with no greasiness.
Neutrogena products have never disappointed - it's a really good range. As well as doing skincare, they do make-up such as foundation, concealer, mascara, lip-balm, etc, but are not widely available in the UK. They're best known for their skincare products. They are quite pricey when you consider that they're a high street brand and you could get Clinique or Clarins for a few more pounds, but they're worth it!
Unlike ...

MY EXPERIENCE.
This all started out when i saw a female friend of mine using this product, i asked her what she was putting on her face (as you do) and was told it was a comfort balm.
Id never thought of using any sort of creams on my face, (being a mans man of course) and i suppose when i got dry skin i just put up with it til it went away, she recommended this product highly and stated it was worth every penny of the £4.99p price tag. I thought ... ...using it again, after being overheard discussing this product her mum also recommended it, everyone i spoke to recommended it (high praise indeed i thought).
Being of an inquisitve nature, i naturally had to find out what all the fuss was about, next time i went to the supermarket i had a quick scan to see if there was any about, there it was staring at me on the shelf (if it could talk it was saying "buy me, buy me") but that would be silly as ...

Advantages: Feels good on skin Disadvantages: None so far
Reading through one of my many many monthy fashion and beauty magazines, I discovered a free sachet of comfort balm, which I immediately tore open and tried, I loved the smell, which is sort of perfumy to my nose and after Id rubbed abit into my hands I was pleased to discover that it wasnt irritating my eczema. My hands almost constantly suffer from it as do the bottom half of my legs. Comfort balm can also be used on the face which in body cream ... ...spotty greasy chops! Not in this case!! I have such sensitive skin that I can only use few few products on it (but I love sampling everything to find the things that work for me!) but Comfort Balm softens my face as well as my body (oo-er) without causing so much as a blackhead (eew) however I tend to apply a very minimal amount to my T Zone just to be safe. I made my little sachet last for about three days until I could rush to Bootd to buy myself ...

Cellular Delivery. For 50ml of the Exotic Cream Moistuising Mask, the price is £26.50. This is quite a lot, but then it only advises that it is used twice a week, so this would last a long time. Be mindful though, of the fact that it needs to be used within 6 months of opening. Shop around for bargains. I have bought sets of Elemis products and received smaller sizes, 15ml, so there should be no danger of that lasting more than 6 months. Ebay is also a good place to look, especially for smaller sizes, try before you buy big.

For a bigger boost, a thin layer of the mask can be left on overnight. Due to my currently dry forehead (the patches around the mouth are no longer dry due to NeutrogenaComfortBalm), I decided that my skin did need something extra.
I have applied the mask. Most of it has sunk in ...
