The Neutrogena skin care range for oily skin has been a blessing for both my skin and my social life. After about a month of using the dermatological soap and spot control lotion and moisturiser and clear pore gel, I have clear skin. If you don't have enough spare cash to splash out on the whole range go for the soap. At only £1.99 it's a real bargain and it lasts for ages. It doesn't look particularly great, a clear bar of yellowy coloured soap, ... ...the job, after the first use my spotty skin felt clean and soft. It took over a month to see a difference, but it's worth the wait! Make sure you get it into a good lather on your skin and wash it off completely with a flannel to get rid of dead skin cells that can cause spots. I would recommend using the spot control moisturiser as well though, as the soap leaves your skin feeling clean but quite tight. This will stop it getting too dry.

Advantages: There were none Disadvantages: Expensive, didn't do what it said it would
...with this. I have used Neutrogena products in the past, but didn't really notice a difference. However, when I saw the above-mentioned product, I thought I had found something that would really work. This product said that it would work on my skin overnight and clear up my skin. How wrong was I? From the first time I tried it, I knew I had made a mistake. Within 5 minutes of applying the product, my face was even oilier than usual and when I woke ... ...the excess oil. My skin was 10 times worse than before. My acne flared up and I ended up with pimples that took ages to clear up. I know that these products generally work according to the rule that things get worse before they get better, but I really couldn't live with it. I gave it a go for 2 weeks and the symptoms did get worse, not better. What a waste of almost £10!!!! ...

Advantages: Combats spots, whilst covering them up. Disadvantages: None
I have been in a vicious circle for years. You see, you put foundation on to cover your spots, but the foundation actually gives you spots.
What was a girl to do.
I tried everything, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Boots own, etc etc, and although, sometimes they seemed quite good, some of them were really expensive. (and believe me, I get through a lot of foundation, hence my alias!!)
I have since discovered, Neutrogena's range of products, and spent ... ...Wonderful stuff. You can buy the non oily variety, which suits me fine. It treats the skin, whilst covering it up.
It has been an absolute godsend, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
You should quite easily be able to match your own skintone, and the products last for ages, even using them twice daily. ...

Advantages: it really does work Disadvantages: disadvantages?
After using neutrogena I can assure you that my skin went from covered head to toe to no, no, no. Neutrogena cleared up my skin in a matter of days , yes days. After using the product I even had enough left over in case of another outbreak. I doubt that's going to happen though, it's calmed down the oil production a treat. I now rarely get blocked pores and my spot production is at a minimum ie. none. Neutrogena changed my life and I can now enjoy ...

Advantages: reasonably priced, will not make a spot problem worse Disadvantages: face powder can be a bit too pale - choose 1 shade darker
...up can make spots worse. Neutrogena however contains salicylic acid, an acne sufferers dream - it fights spots and bacteria whilst absorbing shine.Along with that the coverage is good - bye bye 'mask effect'!I also bought the face powder. Again it contains salicylic acid so it will not clog pores or leave that awful 'flakey nose effect' we greasy skin sufferers know all too well!
Before using neutrogena I had tried Rimmel matte foundation (cheap ... ...to remove). I bought the neutrogena products from Boots for £8 each (incidentally they often come up on the 3 for 2 offers!) This puts them in the middle price bracket. The mirrored compact has lasted me 3 months so far, and the 30 ml foundation lasts approx 6 weeks ( i wear it 6 days a week).I recommend these products whole heartedly - since discovering them i haven't used any other foundation. ...

Advantages: Good foundation Disadvantages: dosnt really combat spots and is quite expensive
I bought this thinking it would be really good it is good foundation dosent go on too thickely and stays on for a long time. But it says it helps blemishes it really hasnt made any difference at all. So if you are buying it thinking it will help your skin dont but if you want a good foundation buy it I must warn you make sure you moisturise before or it will not look as good. I also think that they should change the bottle because its like a nail ...
