I got this product by mistake about a month ago, I meant to pick up the gentle exfoliating wash. I didn't realize until i got home and couldn't be bothered to take it back. I usually use the clean and clear blackhead wash a couple of times a week and was running out anyway so i decided to give this one a try.
HISTORY --------------- Neutrogena was founded in California in the 1930's by a man ( Why is it always men? ) called Emanuel Stolaroff, To begin with it was a small cosmetics company called Natone, He mainly supplied the beauty salons of the film industry. In the 1940's his products hit the mainstream retail market, But things really changed in the 1950's when he heard a Dr. Edmond Fromont had patented a soap that rinsed quickly and left no residue. The importance of this was that a very short time after using the skin returned to it's normal PH level in fact around the same time as if you had washed your hands with plain water. So Stolaroff imported the soap to California and it became their trademark clear soap. In 1962 the company name was changed to Neutrogena and they became more involved in the skincare market, Also consulting with dermatologists and branching out into healthcare. The haircare range came out in the 80's and in 1994 it was aquired by Johnson& Johnson. Not bad from a bar of soap!
HOW DOES IT WORK? ---------------------------------- It has small micro-beads that exfoliate the skin and unblocks your pores that hide the trapped dirt and dead cells that cause blackheads ( Yuk! ). It also contains Salicylic acid that cleans the pores really deep and stops the blackheads from returning. This product is also light enough that it can be used every day, And should leave your skin soft and smooth.
USING ----------- I do have very sensitive skin and normally when i find something that works i normally stick to it, But am really pleased i gave this a go. So first you wet the face then gently rub a small amount into the face staying away from the eyes and mouth. Make sure you have a extra scrub around the nose and the forehead where blackheads tend to form. The packaging is the usual plastic tube with a flip top stand up lid, The only problem with this type of packaging is the inside of the lid can get messy but that might just be me! The scrub is white in colour with tiny orange beads and has a very light fragrance. It is creamy to the touch and lathers up very nicley, The beads do not feel scratchy like some scrubs, More like small grains of sand. After using it's time to rinse and this is where i found the only problem, It is a bit hard to get all the scrub off and i tend to have to wash off with a flannel and still have a few bit's of white left that i clean off with my towel. After drying my face my skin feels nice and soft with no dry or red patches, And by using daily i have noticed that my blackheads have gone. I always felt the Clean & Clear scrub was a bit harsh to use daily and only used it a few times a week but this one is very gentle and i am happy to use this every day.
RANGE & PRICE ------------------------- This is for the new visibly clear range: Blackhead eliminating daily scrub............£3.83 2 in 1 wash & mask.................£3.79 Deep cleansing wipes.............£2.99 Triple action lotion.....................£2.99 Gentle exfoliating wash..............£3.99 The one i meant to buy! Oil free moisturiser..................£3.75 Rapid clear treatment.................£4.49
For some reason i never really liked neutrogena products before but after using this product i will be trying some of the others in the range, I also think they are very reasonably priced compared to others on the market. I would recommend this product if you also suffer with blackheads and are a sensitive little flower like me!

Review of Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Scrub
...=== About Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub === The product comes in a squeezy tube containing 150 ml of a white creamy substance with very tiny particles (or micro beads), rather like sand. On the tube Neutrogena claim it will help to eliminate and prevent blackheads for up to 3 weeks, and apparently this has been clinically proven. It is recommended that this scrub is used daily as part of your daily skincare regime.
=== ... ...used the scrub I was a little surprised by the scent, although not in a bad way. Most facial scrubs smell of either nothing at all or fresh clean things, such as cucumber and mint. As soon as I opened the flip lid I could smell a strong floral fragrance and it smelled more like body lotion than a facial scrub. It wasn't an unpleasant scent at all, just not what I would have expected and a little off-putting if I'm honest. I've had a look on the back ...

Advantages: Refreshing, nice smell, does get rid of smaller blackheads, lasts a long time Disadvantages: Does not work on larger blackheads, hard to rinse off
I saw an advert for this scrub awhile back and purchased it because i had some pesky blackheads around my cheeks and forehead. I already used and still use the Visibly Clear facial moisturiser from the same range which is fantastic, as i have dry, sensitive skin, so decided to give this a try as well. The scrub is around £4-£5, (i think) and can be purchased from most health and beauty shops such as Boots and Supedrug. The packaging is orange, which ... ...the most out of the product when it starts to run out. Used daily (i try to scrub once every evening) on areas prone to blackheads, it is supposed to get rid of them and prevent their return. Firstly, you wet your face with warm water to help open up pores (i use the scrub after a hot shower so you could do this too). The scrub is white, with small orange microbeads to exfoliate and clean out pores. I guessed that the scrub wouldnt magically make ...

Advantages: Nice smell, 150ml in tube, micro-beads, clean & refreshed after using Disadvantages: Didn't work on my blackheads
...the TV advert about the Neutrogena Visible Clear Blackhead Scrub. I thought that I'd try the product to see if it would get rid of my blackheads so I went to Boots and bought some for about £5 which, I thought at first is a bit expensive for a scrub but if it works, then it would certainly be worth it.
Here’s what it claims:
“helps to remove blackheads and prevent their return”
“helps to unblock pores by removing trapped oil and dead cells”
So ... ...Once I manage to finish all of it, I definetly wouldn't go for another neutrogena product for my blackheads.
It’s disappointing that it didn’t work on my blackheads having bought it for £5 in which I could simply have bought a facial scrub for a fraction of the price. ...

DO NOT buy this, it's just a waste of time and money and you don't get much from it. All of the Neutrogena stuff I've tried have been a failure so I have given up on it. I hope this has been useful. ...

...I have been using the Neutrogena product for some time, at least for 6 months plus and have not seen any benefits. Combination skin type
I have combined skin which means black spots (oxidised pores full of bacteria) and greasy areas are centred on and around my nose and chin but the rest of the face tend to be dry and in sometimes even red dry and patched especially on the cheeks.
The blackheads are pretty hard to get rid of given the limitations of what anti-bacterial products and hydrating (?) facial cleansers I can use that won't cause an allergic reaction but will eliminate bacteria.
Facial cleansers for problematic skin
To address the problem with the infected blackhead areas I bought two of the basically two main types of face cleansers on the market and I had started using alternately in my weekly regime. One of them was L'Oreal Pure Zone Deep Exfoliating Gel Wash, the other NeutrogenaVisiblyClearBlackheadEliminatingScrub ...
