Blackheads are a common problem for both men and women, girls and boys. A simple definition of a blackhead(there are loads of complicated definitions on the internet) is a pore that has trapped dirt in it and once it's there it can be differcult to remove. So, when I saw this Neutogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Scrub I thought "Why not!?". It's in a orange and grey tube with red bits on it and the writing is white and black. It sits upside down so the substance will come out easier.
The actual blackhead eliminator scrub is a white cream with tiny light red dots in it. It has quite a nice smell, it's a smell hard to describe. It costs about £2.99. When I first used it I wet my face and massaged it in a circular motion paying particular attention to the problem area. I washed it off and patted it dry then carried on doing the same morning and evening for the next couple of days, it didn't cause any irritation or rashes so I think it's safe in that aspect. From what I could see not one blackhead had gone. It's just a complete rip off and a scam. The only advantage of it was that it made my skin nice and soft but then that's what you'd exspect from a scrub.
DO NOT buy this, it's just a waste of time and money and you don't get much from it. All of the Neutrogena stuff I've tried have been a failure so I have given up on it.
I hope this has been useful.

Sounds like the final product doesn't match up with the concept that the manufacturers came up with. Perhaps the exfoliating ingredients aren't as effective as they could be?

In my experience the ONLY thing that gets rid of blackheads is squeezing them out, I think the best you can expect from any of these preparations is that they cleanse a bit deeper and MAYBE stop blackheads from forming quite so much. Holding your face over a bowl of hot water to open the pores before gently easing them out works well for me. Then cleanse well.
Advantages: Refreshing, nice smell, does get rid of smaller blackheads, lasts a long time Disadvantages: Does not work on larger blackheads, hard to rinse off
