I have oily acne prone skin which drove me mad when I was a teenager. Two hours after washing my face, you could fry an egg on it and I had dreadful acne. Then my mum got me a big blue tub of Noxema from the US - it smelled medicinal and the packaging was quite dire but it helped my skin so much I used it constantly for the next 8 years.
Then I moved to the UK and the weather helped clear my skin up considerably. Now it's still prone to the occasional blemish but it's much better. Thos old acne scars however are still there so I decided to try this exfoliating wash and see if it made any difference. The fact that it is made by Neutrogena who made my beloved Noxema made it even more appealing.
The Price: At my local Asda, this is £3.22 for a 150ml tube. This lasts me ages so it's great value for money. The Packaging: It comes in a grey and orange tube with a snap shut lid. The packaging is visually quite boring but I like that I can stand it on the lid so that even when it's almost empty, the gel is near the nozzle and I don't have to squeeze the tube trying to get it out. The Product: It says on the tube that this gentle exfoliating wash 'cleans deep down-leaving skin soft and smooth, and is also dermatologist tested''. It's a clear-to-white gel with blue microbeads. The Use: I have used this product for about a year now. I usually use it in the evening before bed as I think I need a stronger cleanser after going through the day. My morning face wash is with a milder cleanser but I have to say this product is gentle enough to be used daily or more often depending on your skin. It gives a good lather and is easy to wash off as well. The microbeads exfoliate gently and despite having sensitive skin, they don't hurt like regular scrubs do. But they certainly do the job because my face feels squeaky clean once I'm done. I do feel a little dried out after washing with this but the feeling goes in a few minutes and if it's bothering me I just use a mild moisturiser. I have had very little trouble with blemishes after I have started using this product and the acne scars are gradually disappearing. The Verdict: I think this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a slightly strong cleanser. It's suitable for sensitive skin as well.
