Neverbend tools are the Aston Martin of the gardening tool world and it goes without saying that by purchasing any of their tools leaves you with the self satisying glow that you have just invested in quality. The spade is no different and if anything, buying for much less than the normally RRP made that glow a little bit brighter.

If you wanted to go out and buy the Neverbend Stainless Digging Spade from your local garden centre it will set you back in the region of £30-£40, a considerable amount of money for an item that will at best only see the light of day 4 or maybe 5 times a year. This is why I purchased mine from an online gardening tool supplier for £23.99 including delivery. Normally I wouldn't be quick to run off looking to save a few pounds especially where Neverbend tools are concerned but trying to justify that sort of money even to myself was tricky.
Neverbend tools are the Aston Martin of the gardening tool world and it goes without saying that by purchasing any of their tools leaves you with the self satisying glow that you have just invested in quality. The spade is no different and if anything, buying for much less than the normally RRP made that glow a little bit brighter.
The Neverbend differs from many other spades available, it has a deep fitting socket where the shaft meets the blade which gives increased strength and when turning over heavy loads of soil I never get the creakingsound so familiar with my old spade (which eventually snapped mid shaft). The socket reaches I would say about a third of the length up the shaft and this for me is plus point number one. Plus point number two is the blade. Everything about it is designed to make life easier. The blade itself is mightily thin so it cuts through soil like a hot knife through butter and very little effort is needed. An annoyance I had with m old spade was that as it got older the soil would cling to the blade. The Neverbend has a rust resistant blade and soil just slides off, even when it is clumpy and wet.
Finally, the handle is made from a thick plastic and is big enough for two hands to grip it comfortably. Made from a durable plastic it feels very secure to the shaft and in the 9 months I've owned it I have had no trouble with it coming loose.
Overall I can't do anything but once again praise the good work of the people who designed and manufactured the Neverbend Stainless Spade, it is perfect for all spade related jobs in the garden. It makes life a hell of a lot easier than any other spade I have ever used. If I had to buy another spade if this was stolen or destroyed I would buy another.
