Bold 2 in1 Gel Lavender & Camomile

...next purchase of the New Bold Gels. These are valid until 23rd Dec 09 - so again will be very useful. The 18 wash bottle of Gel was a real surprise as I would have expected a freebie to be one wash sample.

*******Bold do it again.******

I have recently received a wonderful little freebie in the post. A large 18 wash bottle of Bold's new 2 in 1 Gel. The scent it one of my favourites in their range - the Lavender and Camomile. I couldn't believe my luck - a freebie that was actually a really useful one.

~~~~So what did I get in my freebie box ~~~~

Inside the pretty, white box was a leaflet giving me information about 4 Gel's in this range and their website, plus a coupon booklet that contained 4 £1 vouchers that can be used against my next purchase of the New Bold Gels. These are valid until 23rd Dec 09 - so again will be very useful. The 18 wash bottle of Gel was a real surprise as I would have expected a freebie to be one wash sample.

The top of the bottle has a detachable top that acts as a measuring holder that goes straight into the wash with the Gel inside. There is a transparent side panel that shows how much liquid is left inside the bottle.

On the back of the bottle there are simple pictorial instructions on how to use the measuring cap and dose needed. There are also guidelines on washing temperatures suitable for the Gel - I love the fact it cleans effectively at 15degrees C - hence great savings on the energy front. The usual health & safety information is listed as easy to read bullet points, underneath the companies website details.

~~~~ The smell~~~~

Well what can I say - from the moment I opened the box a light and delicated smell of flowers hit my nostrils. The Gel gives a really lovely smell that does scent your washing well. I have also noticed that my drawers and wardrobe have a lightly scented aroma the following day. I was very impressed with this.

I have also been impressed with the fact that my bedding still has a faint trace of this washing Gel after 4 days.

~~~The appearance of the Gel~~~~

The Gel is lavender in colour and reflects the whole theme of the product. Its texture is thick and creamy without feeling greasy. As you squeeze the bottle it pours in a consitant flow to fill the measuring cap at a speed you can control.

Again this impressed me as my son (when trying to be helpful ) has often overflowed the powder drawer, as he has not controlled the speed of the powder flowing from a box)

~~~~The energy saving wash- does it work?~~~~

As any busy working parent/carer knows when kids are about the washing mountain can often look similar to Mount Fiji. Whether you pay by DD or on a Meter the electrical bills takes a bit of a spanking. So the quick, daily, ecomony 60mins wash button on my machine is a bit of a life saver.

However, does it work on the white school shirts that have been used to practice handwriting on? Well yes to a point it did - after using the Gel at the low temperature of 15 degrees C, my son's school shirt was very clean. There was a very slight stain were a particularly bad ink spot had been - but then I wasn't expecting miracles. His white socks could have been brighter but they never come out spotless even on a 65 degree wash.

My darker colours washed very well with no signs of fading yet so again - 10 out of 10 Bold.

To concluded - yes I do believe that the energy saving aspect of this washing Gel is of great benefit for all. With our Government pushing us to save energy this really is a product, that I believe, can help us all save money on our fuel bill.

Absolutely ! for these reasons:

* Ease of use when pouring
* The wonderful aroma
* Lasting aroma
* Energy effectiveness in the washing machine
* I have coupons left !!!
* Price - even without the coupons - £ 4.39 for 18 washes is good. very good.

~~~~ conclusion~~~~

I would highly recommend this washing Gel for the reasons above. The light delicate smells, price and effectiveness is great.

The Gel dissolves instantly into the washing to give a deeper clean without faded coloured clothes. Because of the quickness of this dissolving Gel there are never any white powder marks left ( how many of us have pulled out our favourite jumper from a quick wash to find white powder stains all over it?)
