I had never heard of New ID when I won a voucher for a deluxe makeover with them that included a photoshoot. I looked them up online and found that they are a company that have been doing makeovers for quite some time and seem to have some pretty good reviews about them. The voucher I got was worth fifty pounds via their website, however there are other ‘experience’ companies online that also offer their vouchers are various different prices. I chose to go to the Birmingham salon as it was the closest to me. They have others around the country, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff and London. When I phoned I was asked for a twenty five pounds deposit that you can either spend on the prints that start at 50quid and go up to 249quid depending on what size you want. If you don’t use the deposit it gets refunded. I did use it so I cant comment on how good their refunds are. I thought the salon was easy to find, there is a great map on the New ID site. It was clean, had a fun atmosphere and was pretty quiet when I got there but got overly busy by the time I left. I was glad it was not like that they whole time I was there. I got pretty quick service but I think that was because I got in early, if you go later I think you might end up waiting around for ages for seats to be free in hair and makeup. I was there for just over three hours. I pretty much went from one bit to the next with no waiting time but I did have to hang about for 30 minutes to see the pictures. the guy that showed me the pictures was pretty pushy and I almost just left but when I said I was not going to be pushed into a sale he calmed down and was as lot more professional. All of the rest of the staff were very professional so that was good. I have not had the pictures in the post yet because it takes up to eight weeks, that suckes but the rest of it is actually very good indeed.
