I can’t bear to wear flat shoes or no heels, I feel a bit drab to be honest and I always feel a bit better when I have at least a little bit of a heel. I have been on holiday recently and although I took with me a couple of pairs of (flat) flip-flops, I felt I needed something a little bit more ‘glam’ for nights out. I like to wear long floaty dresses on warm summer evenings when I am on holiday, and although flip flops or flat pumps might be more practical, I just would have withdrawal symptoms, I am sure, if I couldn’t take something with at least a little bit of a heel.

Before going on holiday I had a look around the shops for something ‘summery’ but nothing too formal and I stumbled across a great pair of wedge shoes in New Look (not a shop I go into that often, but I had heard they did a good range of cheap shoes). Mine are in navy blue, exactly as per the picture and they have been fantastic to wear whilst on my holidays.

I love the look of these shoes, because they look like a proper summer shoe. The top is in canvas with a knot type tie at the front, near to the toe. They are peep toed with sling backs and a cork wedge of approximately two and a half inches high – the perfect height really for a glam type holiday shoe, I think! They cost me £15 at the time but I think they have since gone down in price. I still think £15 was a bargain though.

As they are a fairly neutral colour, I found they went well with most of my holiday outfits. I primarily wore them during evenings out with my maxi dresses but I also wore them once or twice during the day with shorts. Whatever I wore them with, they looked fab! I love the design and of these great wedges and for the price I think the quality is brilliant.

They were so comfortable and I got no blisters or marks at all during the entire fortnight – which is something of a miracle for me! My flip flops, on the other hand, rubbed like crazy between my poor toes and caused me no end of problems.

Although it’s been very wet since I got back home, I have worn them once or twice on dryer days with jeans and again they look great. They are smart yet casual and look really trendy. I simply love them.
