New Look Parisian White and Navy Stripe Twill Shorts Women

Walking around my local New Look store, although the weather has been pretty awful I can't help but feel a little summery due to all the bright summer tops, shorts and clothes they currently have in their store. I love wearing shorts but don't own many pairs of these as I find it hard to find a pair that I actually feel comfortable in. I have 2 pairs of blue denim shorts, but these are very casual and more like day shorts.

~ THE SHORTS ~
As I was walking around the store some striped shorts caught my eye. There were various different colours of shorts but all had stripes going down them. Although the shorts looked short, they looked as though they would cover my bum without any cheek popping out. The shorts are available to buy in Red & White Stripes, Navy & White, Black & White and Blue & White. The shorts come in a large range of sizes from a size 6 up to a size 14. Although the shorts were in New Look, they are made by a brand called Parisian, and a lot of their clothing can be purchased from New Look. I picked up the Navy & White striped shorts as these were more subtle than the blue and the red striped shorts which were a lot brighter in colour. I didn't want to go for the black and white striped one's either. The shorts feel soft and looked like they might be a really good fit. I am normally a size 10 in shorts and bottoms; how-ever I picked up a size 12 as I didn't want the shorts to be too tight around the waist or the legs. The shorts can be purchased from New Look in store and online. The shorts cost £19.99 which is a reasonable price.

~ WEARING THE SHORTS ~
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to wear the shorts bare legged yet and have had to wear them with black tights due to the very poor weather we have been having. I thought black tights would look best with these. I put these over the tops of my tights and did the zip and button up. The button is white in colour. The shorts feel soft to touch and are made from 97% cotton so are comfortable and also breathable. I wore the shorts with some heels and a black top for a night out on the town. The shorts look great, even with tights and they were really comfortable, even with tights. The size 12 fit me perfectly, giving a little extra room in case they get a little tighter when washing them. As the shorts are mainly made from cotton they also stretch with your movements. The shorts did just cut off under my bum cheeks; how-ever no cheeks were displayed when walking in the shorts which was good. (The last thing I want is everyone to see the bottom of my bum cheeks). I have also worn the shorts casually with flat boots as they look as good in the day as they do the night.

~ WASHING THE SHORTS ~
The shorts can be washed in a washing machine and are best if they are left to air dry. I find that the shorts wash really nicely and come out of the wash looking as bright as they were when I purchased them. The shorts don't take too long to air-dry. I find that they may need a little iron after they have dried. The shorts fit perfectly again after being washed.

~ OVERALL OPINION ~
The shorts are good value as they fit really nicely and are very comfortable to wear. You can easily dress the shorts up or down so are great for wearing during the day and the night. I think the shorts will look much better without tights and will look great down by the beach in the summer. I have considered purchasing the blue and white striped shorts as I like them so much. Some people may find the shorts too short for them as they do just cut off right under your bum cheeks. I love wearing these shorts and I give them 5 out of 5 stars for quality, looks and because they are also very comfortable.
