New Look White Striped Cut and Sew Vest Women

~ THE TOP ~

When I went into my local store I didn’t intend on buying anything as I was shopping with my sister. This vest did catch my eye though and as soon as I saw it I picked it up and went and tried it on. I’m not sure what attracted me to the vest top in the first place. Maybe it was the stripes on the vest but I think it was more of the texture/look of the vest which made it look slightly crochet/knitted.

The top was purchased from my local New Look store and comes in a size 6-18. I paid £14.99 for the vest which I don’t think is too bad. If you can’t get to a New Look store, then this can also be purchased online. The top is only available in one colour which is grey & white. Although the top comes under evening and party tops on the New Look website, I personally think this is more of a day/casual top which would look great with shorts, jeans and maybe even leggings. The vest is long-line style with a scoop neck and dipped reverse hem. I am normally a size 6/8 in tops from New Look so I purchased a size 8 as I didn’t want the vest to fit too tight under my arms.

~ WEARING THE TOP ~

As the top was more casual looking I thought it would look great with some denim shorts. Seeing as we have had a few days of sun I took the opportunity and decided to wear it. The top has very small holes in it so I did wear a black vest top underneath it as I wasn’t sure how see-through it was going to be. The top looked great with my denim shorts and cowboy style boots. The top was a nice longer length and came just below my waist. The top was slightly longer at the back and came half way down my bottom. I have also worn the top with a pair of jeans and casual sandals. This time I wore the top with a plain coloured bra underneath it. The vest top isn’t as see-through as I first thought it was. The top also looked great with my jeans. The top isn’t tight fitting which is nice as you can move about easily in it and it keeps you quite cool due to the tiny holes in the top. The top fits nicely and is a little fitted round the bust area but not too fitted.

~ WASHING THE TOP ~

The top is made from 75% Polyester, 25% Viscose and 2% Elastane, which means it’s suitable to wash a washing machine at 40 and must be washed inside out. The top must be left to dry naturally and may need re-shaping a little whilst damp. You can iron the top but it’s recommend to iron the top on reverse. I have washed the top once or twice according to the washing instructions and the top has washed and dried fine. I haven’t ironed the top yet as I haven’t felt the need to as it doesn’t come out of the washing machine very creased anyway. I do always wash the top inside out and wash it with similar colours.

~ OVERALL OPINION ~

This top is great for wearing during the day and can easily be worn with jeans, shorts or even leggings. As the top is a longer length, it does cover half of your bottom which is great if your one of those people who don’t like their bottom. Although I have worn the vest top by itself it also looks fine with a plain coloured vest underneath it. This may keep you a little warmer as well. The top washes easily and always come out fine each time I have washed it. For £14.99 I don’t think the vest top is bad value and would even consider purchasing other colours of they had them. I give the vest top 5 out of 5 stars as it’s comfortable and looks great.
