Jean Grey-Summers: Has all manner of psychic telekinetic powers. Is starting to become stronger and more powerful as a mutant, although many are worried her powers are beginning to control her.
Hank McCoy (Beast): Has evolved into a blue, furry monster, but retains his civilised mind.
James Logan (Wolverine): Has a healing factor, so he can't be killed, and some shiny claws that burst out of his knuckles when he wants to fight.

AND NOW, IN "NEWX-MEN"!
139 is untitled, but I like to think of it as "Emma Vs Jean". Morrison had been building up throughout his run to this moment, where Scott's wife finally finds out about his psychic affair with Emma Frost. And she's rather pro-active about it. Jean comes and blasts away everything, psychically attacking Emma whilst the rest of the Institute are locked out of proceedings. The amazing thing here though is how Morrison's sympathies lie with Emma. Whilst attacking the woman who is seemingly stealing her husband, Jean-Grey goes too far and starts taunting and hurting Emma, prompting the rest of the X-Men to burst in and try to stop her. Morrison has been waiting to write this story for a while, and it's a massive payoff. This is, with one exception only, the best X-Men story he ever wrote. And he's complimented handsomely...

Charles Xavier (Professor X): The owner of the school where the series is set, and leader of the X-Men. He is confined to a wheelchair, but that doesn't stop him from having the most powerful psychic mind in the Marvel Universe.
Scott Summers (Cyclops): Scott can fire 'optic blasts' from his eyes, but because there is no way of controlling this, he has to wear specially designed glasses, contact lenses or a visor to control them for him.
Jean Grey-Summers: Married to her childhood sweetheart Scott, Jean Grey has psychic powers also, which extends to telekinesis. However, if she exerts her power too much, they grow and start to get out-of-hand, so has to limit herself.
Hank McCoy (Beast): Hank is called Beast because his mutation turned him into a blue, furry monster. Ironically, he happens...
