With 'Fallout New Vegas' just getting ready to launch and 'call of duty Black-ops' also nearing release date I'm hoping now to divert people attention away from those two games for just... 5 minutes. And would like to point out..
there's MORE than just these two games out this year, and people have forgotten that. YES 'New Vegas' may be ground breaking and utterly superb and I'm already looking forward to the months I'm going to spend with my friends trying to get through the game from all angles,
But I for one would love to hear about other games being released, and I shall get to the new Call Of Duty release soon, but,
I've done some scouting, and here is my top 5 games due for release aside from COD and New Vegas.
#1: Rock of the Dead is due for release on the 19/10/10 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, Wii, with your drop tuned guitar in hand your mission is simple... Rock your way to the top and protective what you have. trying to land the pretty girl by the end of the game.
Gameplay is very much for the beginner in the respect of to kill the nasty looking insect you have to press the buttons according to how you see them on the screen , to give an example.. it's like the vats system in Fallout 3 only the enemy cant touch you whilst in this system but with the same command style of play as Brutal legend.
Graphics, well, not the best from what I can see, others may see it differently to me.
seems great for a beginner into the world of rock, not so hot for your 'Hardcore' audiences, but who knows.. like all games like this ... it might just kick off and be huge.

#2: Times Crisis : Razing Storm. now this is a game I think everybody should have at least a couple of hours on.Released on the 19/10/10 for Playstation 3 only. this is one of the newest game release that supports the 'Gun-con 3 light gun' and the 'Playstation move' controller.
Gameplay, Move through the game with a huge range of weapons and things that explode where ever you decide to throw or plant it. this game also features two other games... which are Time Crisis 4 'Arcade' and Time Crisis Deadstorm Pirates if you fancy a bit of a change.
Graphics, It's clear to me and I'm sure it will be to people new to the series that the graphics have gotten a great deal easier on the eye, prettier to follow and new scenic things to admire such as explosions, gun-fire and a whole host of things. another pretty cool feature is the alleged 'Fully Destructible environments' as they so teasingly said it.
I'm really looking forward to this game and I'm sure without a shadow of a doubt it will please every button basher here, just trying to see if in fact the environment is fully destructible.

#3: 'Truth or lies' is a game for you and your friends to enjoy together on the Wii, get the game to ask you and your friends direct questions about your relationships and
reveal your friends' deep secrets for example,
A question revealed in the trailer asks.
"would you run naked down a crowded street for £10,000 ?" hmmm you have to ask... how does the game know if your lying?.
Either way, there is also a feature which enables you to put your friend/worst enemy in the spotlight and ask them a few questions of your own... this does interest me, as making my friends/worst enemies look like the scum of the earth boosts my ego. but there we are,
Not much to note graphically, very bright and bold but all gets familiar after 1 round of questions.
A game that's sure to get young boys and girls glued for a couple of hours quizzing each other and then running of the respective friends and schools and it will be the 'new thing'
But I, will be spending my cash elsewhere.

#4: Later this month anxious followers of the Fable series on the Xbox 360 are in for a treat with the instalment of the latest game, surprisingly called... Fable III, set around half a century after Fable II, The continent known as 'Albion' has lost the hero that once ruled and has given way to oh so evil Logan. It's your job as Logan's kinder hearted sibling to save the land and return it to it's former glory,
The graphics I must say look pretty spectacular, bright colours, interesting weather conditions, magically coloured things, hopefully new scenery to investigate.
The game has also included a surprisingly mouth watering cast with Stephen Fry,Simon Pegg, John Clesse, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jonathan Ross all playing roles in the game.
To some, could be a brilliant game.
To others could be a hideous flop.
To me, I'll give it a go.
#5: Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, Not being fan of the 'Fifa' control a pre-programmed match-stick around a field series of football games, I find myself dribbling from my mouth waiting for Pro Evolution, already handing my money over to the spotty teenage assistant at the till.
with a pretty much new way of doing things Konami have still gone for realism with the release, giving the player more control of player movements and a more unique stamina/power ratio, meaning, that you now have to look after your players and sprinting non-stop will have adverse effects, shot power, passing accuracy, tacking, will all be very challenging once your players legs slowly turn to jelly.
As I stated at the start.. I'm not a Fifa kind of guy, so it would have been superb had Konami had been given the rights to use all of the teams official names and official logo's and team strips for Pro Evolution 2011. but not to be, it seems Fifa take the glory there.
Which is a real shame as I think Konami, with its vastly superior graphics and Gameplay, would wipe Fifa off the map had it had those extra features.
This aside, it would take Fifa bringing out an entirely new way of playing football on a console other than trying to re-light the same candle that burnt out many years ago to prize Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 from my hands.

There is my top 5 from now until Christmas I suspect, if I see/play any more games that I think people will enjoy I shall make a review, knowing the game industry and my keen testing self will find another soon I'm sure.
Before my top 5 I said that I would Write a little something on Call Of Duty- Black-Ops before the end. so here goes,
You've played Call Of Duty before.. so prepare for a release that is no better or worse than any other Call Of Duty game, and if you would like to spend £40-£50 for the 'new guns' and 'new mission' then be my guest.
but me,
I shall be spending that on something that wont annoy me because I get so close to the end of the level then the enemy become suddenly more life threatening that I die every 30 seconds. seeing the same guns and same cut scene over and over again.
And it seems I may be completely alone in my opinion. I hope not.
Ok, maybe it wasn't that short, but it had to be said.
Yes, I already know how my November/Christmas period of gaming shall pan. Fallout New Vegas, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 and Fable III if the mood arises.
keep checking for more reviews!
