Hi,
Ive had a really big problem with next directory, i mvoed home about 12 months ago now and they still have yet to update my address. Not only this but I have missed x3 payments they say and are demanding them now or be reffered to a debt collection agency.
I have always paid next ontime online, however since I have not orded anything from them in months have had no reason to go online to my account. I have done all that I can to MAKE them update my details, however they still seem to say that I have not given them.I have placed a subject access request in to next and request a hold be placed by their debt collection department due to me not getting anything and my payments been fine in the past. Ther response from the following people was:
Natalie , "We will place details of your dispute in writting to you", well this was what I requested. Next I asked her about a tempory hold been placed on the account to allow time for the dispute to be resolved, bearing in mind they are going to try and take action on the 9/12/04 and today been the 6/12/04. Her response to this was " well unless you pay me £144.26 today then no the action would still continue!" I would really love to know how this would stand up in court, no remiders, address been incorrect??I then asked to speak to a maneger, Vivian Millard then came on the phone, she was asked the same question her response was, " Im sorry but you have had orders in the last few months and you have never called to complain the address has not been updated, so no hold will be placed! "
Under the Consumer Credit Act a company must be fair, I can not see how they are inline with this legislation at all.I have contacted Next Press office and requested a response. If you have had an unfair time with next post it here. As a major ISP owns this site, we guarantee to get it in the top 10 of most search engines. After all google takes 24 hours these days which feeds most.

Similar thing happened to me. I bought one thng, paid outright. Cancelled it before going to university (my mum still lived at the account address) 5 years later I get a letter from a debt company claiming I owe Next! Note I'd not heard a thing in 5 years! I had no proof I'd not bought anything so I had to pay to save my rating. I now want to buy some schoolwear that's unavailable in their shops but is online/catalogue. I either have to get credit with them (i don't trust them) or use a credit card (i don't use them). So they encourage debt! That's disgusting for a catalogue aimed at young families. I just want to buy a few things with money I actually physically own like I can from any other online retailer I have ever used. How ridiculous!
