Women like shopping, this is natural and it’s not something that they can avoid.
Most younger women take great joy in going on a shopping spree with their mates, hitting every shop in town, taking 10 hours to do it and maybe buying something they may even keep, by that I mean not taking it back the next day.

Us guys as far as I can remember loved racing around Miss Selfridges, Top Shop and Next with our loved ones. As keen as they were to get that bargain or special outfit. Spending all day Saturday doing just this with our loved ones was a joy! Ok the last paragraph re-written honestly!
We guys hated dragging our heels around all the Fashion Houses whilst our loved ones tried every flaming dress or outfit in each one. When asked the dreaded question “Does this suit me”, we would all nod like the dogs you see in the back windows of cars. I think that I fell out with my then girlfriend (now wife) every Saturday afternoon, without exception. There would be a flurry of words and Donna would storm off to another shop and I would do the same but enter the nearest pub. It would appear that this plan worked faultlessly for 5 years.
~~Then life moves on, Husbands, Children and Full Time Employment
When a woman has a high-powered executive job, 2 kids and a mad Scottish husband to put up with, going out on a Saturday afternoon shopping trip is a rarity. This is when the Next Directory Shopping Catalogue and the Next Directory Internet Site is a saviour.
~~ Next Directory Catalogue
Donna has used the Next Directory method of shopping for many years, indeed I have difficulty trying to decide what I wear each day that does not either come from Marks And Spencer’s (A branch is almost next to the house) or Next Directory. The catalogue is issued twice a year, with a variety of supplements being issued generally every 3 months. As is the norm the run up to a holiday means that the nice little Next deliveryman visits our house on average 3 times a week. Indeed I suspect that we will be getting the "Next Consumer of the Year" award very soon. Of course not everything that is ordered is kept. If you want to meet me, just go the Next shop in the Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh on a Saturday at 10 am. I will be the bald guy with the specs and a host of blue return bags. Whilst these multiple returns are being processed I invariably hold up the queue for at least 15 minutes and manage to piss several customers off into the bargain, well worth my weekly visits then!
The catalogue offers Ladies, Men’s and Children’s wear. It additionally has a section on Home items ranging from Glassware to Dining Room Tables and Computer Furniture. The presentation of the catalogue is excellent. The quality of the clothing is very good. You order the goods through the Order Phone number and all in all the whole process is pretty painless. If an item is out of stock, the operator will tell you right away, she will also advise if delivery will be delayed on an out of stock item. There is a delivery charge of £2.50 and you are also charged for the delivery of the new catalogues (£2.50). Personally I thing that this is ridiculous, but am I going to argue with my wife about it? No chance, getting charged for delivery of a catalogue and for each subsequent order placed is an excellent idea, indeed everybody should be doing it!
Returns can be picked up by the deliveryman or returned via any Next Retail Outlet. The bonus with using the Retail outlet is that your account is credited quicker than if you return the goods via the delivery service. When purchasing you have the option of putting the items on account or paying by Visa or Switch. We use an account, that way we only pay for what we have actually kept, I hate to think what the arrangements are for re-claiming your cash having paid with switch and then returning it all the next day. It is recommended that you clear the account monthly, as the APR on a next account is very high and not in the least bit competitive.
So what of the Internet Site??
In all honesty this is a worry. The site is easy to navigate: You log on using your catalogue account id and order until the cows come home. You can order goods via the item number in the catalogue or you can just browse. Of course you can do this easily through the Order Line, but that takes time. The www site however is easy and you can do what my wife did last year when surfing for new holiday clothes. She ordered in 1 hour after a couple of Glasses of Red £900.00 worth of goods. They all came that week and that following Saturday? Well I think that you can guess the rest.
~~ Tip Of The Day
Lock your phone and put a windows password on your PC!
Advantages: good quality clothing, fantastic customer service, Disadvantages: expensive APR on flexible account
...am really impressed with the Next Directory. I have been using it now for about 4 years and during that time I have found that the quality of clothing and customer service is the best around. Next was formed in 1981 soon selling women’s, men’s’ and children’s clothing. The next Directory was launched in 1988 and it won House Beautiful’s Mail Order Master Award in 2000. The Next Directory is a brilliant catalogue. It ... ...to the section you want. Next bring out two catalogues a year – Spring/Summer and Winter/Autumn. You get supplements throughout the year for interiors/summer/Christmas etc. The catalogue is divided into sections: Women A beautiful range of clothes from size 8-20 in regular sizes and 8-16 in petite sizes. The clothes are shown in good detail and they usually turn out to be exactly how they look in the catalogue. (Not always the case with other ...

...clothes for my son from Next because I know they are well made and won't fall to pieces after a couple of washes.I buy mainly tops as trousers do wear out very easily and can be expensive to replace.
Next have a catalogue with a good range of childerns clothes in ,as well as adults and home things. This is £3,wich can be a put off for some people and delivery is £2.95,so if I buy out the catalogue I tend to wait until I need a few things ,then its ... ...order a catalogue on-line too.

Overall I would recommend Next clothes as they are reasonable and very well made.Wash great and are easy to iron(no mis-shape)and also look great too.Delivery comes within 2 days if in stock. ...

Advantages: good quality Disadvantages: price but worth it
Next for kids is really good, and it shows as the product is lasting. The quality as you might guess means the prices are a little higher than the normal shop, but it is worth it. I only buy the odd item for my kids, like Jacket, jumpers, and jeans. They have clothing in a wide range both for boys and girls. And they start from new-borns to children aged 8-9.
The staff are really friendly and always keen to help if you require it. And it is worth ... ...I have, and have had certain products ordered for no extra charge. So only good vibes come from this review as there is nothing seriously wrong with this store that I have to submit.

Advantages: great clothes, reasonable pricing (most of the time) Disadvantages: bit mumsy sometimes,
For years I have loved Next, and I still do. I think their clothes are fantastic and its a great shopping experience.
I think their casual clothes are really good. You can get stuff that goes together really nicely and the 'est82' range is great for casual wear. Their sizing is consistant and clothes are comfortable.
The pricing can sometimes be a bit over the top, for example suits are expensive, but the sets of three t-shirts are great value for money. The jewelery, shoes and make up ranges are also very good, and homewares are excellant.
Their sales are also fab if you can get out of bed for it starting cos otherwise you are unlikely to get much stuff.
The only gripes I have with Next are that sometimes their stuff can be a tad mumsy, and that the petite range is not as complete as the full range. Having short ...

Advantages: Reasonable pricing, good quality clothes, lots of stores Disadvantages: Everyone else wears the same clothes, not always a great selection
I never really shopped at Next until I got my job in the Civil Service. As an office based role I needed to look smart and Next seemed like a great place to go to buy suits and smart work tops. I had bought the occasional t-shirt or jeans but my mother had often bought clothes from the catalogue. I prefer buying in store as you get to feel the materials and try the clothes on.
About Next:
The store was founded in 1982; they now have over 400 retail outlets around the world and is the UK's third largest clothes retailer. Last year, Next's turnover was £3.3 billion and profits were £478 million before tax.
My local stores:
In my town there are 2 out of town new stores, 1 small store in the town centre and a clearance store.
First impressions:
The new(ish) stores are on out of town retail parks. They are quite large and airy ...
