Review of My Mum and Dad Make Me Laugh - Nick Sharratt by  neenn

Advantages: Fabulous illustrations, appeals to pre-school children.
Disadvantages: None

...This is a new addition to my children’s picture book shelf! ≈≈≈ Price ≈≈≈ My paperback version, ISBN: 0-7445-9499-5 was £4.99 but is available from Amazon from £1.29 but do be aware of P&P charges. ≈≈≈ Nick Sharratt ≈≈≈ Those of you who are used to children’s picture books will no doubt recognise Nick Sharratt’s name as being the illustrator of many picture books, working alongside a range of authors. Challenging Stereotypes!
Review of Yuk! - Kes Gray, Nick Sharratt by  neenn

Advantages: Humorous book and challenges stereotypes, a little!
Disadvantages:

...assumed that the author was a female. Kes Gray began his career in advertising and his most famous tv adverts have been for Carling Black Label, Prudential and the NSPCC. In 1997 he took one months sabbatical and produced his first and most acclaimed picture book 'Eat Your Peas'. This was published in 2000 and became the first picture book in 10 years to win the overall prize at the 2001 Federation of Children's Book Awards. Following the HUGE success of Eat Your Peas, Kes Gray has developed a series of Daisy books. He has written a number of other children's books and also writes young fiction for Oxford's Treetops Schools reading series. ~ The Illustrator, Nick Sharratt ~ Nick Sharratt studied graphic design at London Art College and got a job drawing humorous illustrations for magazines, sweet packets and Easter Egg wrappers. A Babysitter's Nightmare
Review of Really, Really - Kes Gray by  neenn

Advantages: Enables you to discuss the importance of telling the truth
Disadvantages: May not appeal to boys as this series of books is all about a girl called Maisy.

...This book is one within the series of books all about Daisy, written by Kes Gray and illustrated by Nick Sharratt/ ~ Daisy Books ~ This series of books is very popular amongst te 4 - 5 year olds that I teach, particularly the girls. Daisy is a little girl whose adventures and naughtiness appeal to Reception to Year 1 children. Daisy doesn't 'do' dresses, e.g. in the book entitled 'YUK!' Daisy wants to wear a baseball outfit or a leopard skin suit rather than a bridesmaid dress. Other Daisy Books: * You Do! * Eat Your Peas * If I was Boss * A Bunch of Daisies * Yuk! * 006 and a Bit ~ Really, Really ~ It is the first time that Daisy has ever had a babysitter look after her. Mum was in a rush so hurried out without really giving Angela the babysitter any instructions and Daisy being Daisy causes a bit of bother and tries to take... Read review
