I have been a smoker for about 20 years now and it has finally got the better of me. Last year after having three pnuemo thorax's (Collapsed Lungs) consecetively and two major operations I decided to give up smoking. This was probably one of the hardest things for me to do in my life so far, because smoking took up 3/4 of my life. I was smoking up to and over 60 roll ups a day.
So I went to the doctors and asked him for some help, He sent me on a course and I was prescribed Patches and a Nicorette Inhalator.
The Inhalator comes in a starter pack, which consists of a mouthpiece, 6 cartridges and a handy case to carry them around.
It is really simple to use, you twist the mouthpiece round until two little lines are opposite each other, then pull it apart. Push the cartridge in as far as you can to break the sealand push the other half of the mouthpiece back into position breaking the other seal on the cartridge. Simple.
Once you have done this you areready to use your inhalator. All you have to do is suck.
The capsules contain10mg of nicotine, and last for about 20 minutes, its up to you how you use this 20 minutes. i.e you could have 4 x 5 minute blasts or 20 x 1 minute blasts. The 20 minutes DO NOT have to be used up in one go. The capsules also have a slight freshmint taste, making the experience pleasenter. You may use up to 12 cartridges a day and although its says DO NOT USE WITH ANY OTHER NRT PRODUCTS, my adviser seems to disagree.
Nicorette Inhalators also come larger packs that contain a new mouthpiece and 42 cartridges. These are available from most chemists @£19.99
Definitely a good aid to help you quit the nasty,stinky habit. It did me.
this is very useful review - I have tried everything to kick the habit including hypnosis (a complete con in my opinion) but never even heard of this. Will give it a go.
