Advantages Advantages Nicotine is still delivered into your needy blood stream

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's not quite the same as a satisfying, long pull on a much needed cigarette, contains loads of E numbers and doesn't taste that nice

For the past two years I've really seriously been wanting to give up smoking. I had promised myself and anyone who would listen that I'd pack up on my 40th birthday; well I'll be 42 in August and it just didn't happen. It's been an interesting couple of years to say the least culminating in the break up of my marriage in October 2005. The moral here is that excuses NOT to stop are ten-a-penny and sometimes any excuse will do. It was National No Smoking Day on the 8th March so I set my sights around that date and prepared myself by buying a pack of Nicotinell mint 4mg nicotine chewing gum ... more

Nicotinell Fruit Gum Extra Strength. Well as most of you have now noticed I have given up the evil weed YES! I'm on my 3rd week and sooo happy. I don't think I could have done it without the nicotine gum though. Let me tell you a little about the gum first: I picked the fruit flavored gum because for some strange reason the mint flavor seems to fade quicker for me. And I tend to associate mint with ciggies as I always had a piece of gum after a ciggie to get rid of my stinky breath. The gum itself comes in chick let form (that is small rectangular pieces of gum, for those who do not know what ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes nice and helps you throw cigarettes in the bin where they belong

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can give you a bit of jaw-ache

It all started some thirty odd years ago when having seen mum and dad smoking and meeting some girls who thought it was grown up to smoke, I had to have a drag to prove that I was growing up too. I didn't actually take it up as a regular thing until a good many years later, when I did so in anger, to annoy my health freak boyfriend who absolutely abhorred it. It was far easier than arguing. Well the thing about cigarettes is that the first one, while maybe giving you some sort of pleasure at the time, although more likely to actually make you feel sick, leaves you swith the feeling that you ... more

Advantages Advantages Can help with cravings

Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrible taste, made me feel sick.

It all started for me when I was 12 years old and a few of my friends smoked and offered me a cigarette. Like a fool I obliged and a few months later was smoking everyday. At first I had to hide it from my parents but innevitably when my mum found out she went crazy but even that didn't stop me, so here I am 10 years on with a 15-20 a day habit. I decided to purchase these a few weeks ago when I was going home from university. Its a horrible long train journey where you can't smoke and my boyfriend, who was picking me up, hates me smoking so I thought it might be a good idea to try and stop as ... more

Advantages Advantages Actually stops you from wanting a cigarette. Not a bad price.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The taste is vile and makes you feel sick.

I decided to stop smoking nearly 3 days ago. That has really surprised me as i never ever thought i would be able to stop. Ive been feeling pretty low at times and my mood has changed a bit as i seem to be a lot more snappy with people than before, but i still havent had a cigarette thanks to Nicotinell chewing gum. First let me tell you about the gum itself and what it does. Whats in the gum??? You may be thinking, Each piece of gum contains 4mg of nicotine in a resin complex (nicotine polacrilin 20mg). Other ingredients are gum base, calcium carbonate (E170), sorbitol (E420, 0.2g per piece, a ... more
