10x magnification, they are compact and lightweight, the rubber coating giving a comfortable grip. Not only is there a multi-layered coating on the lenses for bright images, the eco optics are arsenic and lead free. The long eye relief design gives a clear field of view, even if you wear glasses.
Advantages: Price, good low light performance Disadvantages: None that I can think of
I've had these binoculars for 2 years now, and they've been extremely useful. They were bought for me as a Christmas present, so I don't know exactly how much was paid for them, although a quick browse on the web shows a price around £40. At this price, I reckon these are an absolute steal.
By coincidence, at the same time as I was receiving these, I was giving the same person a pair of binoculars in return, the only difference being ... ...which cost over 5 times as much (USD$384 to be precise).
I've therefore had a good opportunity to compare the 2, and I think I wasted my money. They're very easy to use, the focus is quick, precise and well damped, and they're comfortable on your eyes. There's no problem fitting them into a coat pocket, and they'll focus down to as close as 8 feet, at which point the red squirrel you're peering at seems enormous.
Both barrels are completely covered in soft black rubber for a comfortable firm grip, and when not in use, they live in their smart black cloth case in my car's glove compartment.
In summary, a fine pair of binoculars, supplied at a good price. Recommended.
