The nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR, top-of-the-line

Advantages: Beautiful bokeh, tack-sharp, vibration reduction, easy to use, many useful accessories
Disadvantages: heavy, expensive, slight vignetting, prone to flaring

In 2004 I bought the Nikkor 70-200 VR for my trip to Southern and Western Africa. The lens offers professional build quality, image stabilisation and a very useful zoomrange . Most importantly, images come out razorsharp, with brilliantly soft bokeh. ---Background--- In the 90's, Canon introduced a number of innovations in their lenses, becoming a very compelling buy compared to the more traditional Nikon systems. For instance, from 1995 they offered image stabilisation in their lenses, suddenly opening up a whole world of possibilities for photographers. Using image stabilisation, it became possible to use a lens at slower shutterspeeds, as the lens automatically would correct minor vibrations. It took Nikon a number of years, until 2001 to be exact, to respond with their own version of this technology. The first lens to contain ...

Review of Nikon Zoom-Nikkor telephoto zoom lens - 70 mm - 200 mm F/2.8

Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom lens user review

Advantages: great zoom range, good build quality, image stabilization, universal
Disadvantages: maximum apertures only average, high price

At first, I just needed a universal lens for a two-week travel across Europe that would cover the full range from normal wide-angle to longish tele. I had the 18-55 and 55-200 lenses, but did not want to take them to the trip because of all the dirt and dust that would get into the camera body when changing them all the time. Since I did not have an option to rent or borrow some lens, I had to buy the Nikkor 18-200VR. Originally I planned on selling the lens again after I return from the trip but ended up keeping it and using it extensively. The price was high (around 750? when I bought it a half year ago) but all in all the lens is well worth it. I am using this lens on a Nikon D40 body, the two make a almost perfectly balanced pair. The lens is a bit heavier than the body thus when carried on a strap, the lens is always pointing ...

Review of Nikon Zoom-Nikkor zoom lens - 18 mm - 200 mm F/3.5-5.6

Nikon v Canon v Pentax

Advantages: Cheapest SLR ith the best range of features
Disadvantages: Plastic and light feel lets it down

that?s actually taken so you can play about with various things to increase the quality before you press the button. The draw back with normal camera is that you can have a finger in the way and you won?t know until you get the prints Another big bonus is that you can interchange lenses. Normal camera only come with a 35mm to perhaps say 105mm, which is fine for every days snaps. But its no good if you want to zoom in on something. With SLR camera you can chose the lens for your needs. Good points for the Nikon F65 ***************************** The price for one. It uses the same system as much more expensive cameras made by Nikon. The system, focuses on up to five different parts of the picture to find the focus and lighting readings. Therefore you should never have blurry or too dark /light photos as long as the cameras in ...
