Probably the best quality lens you can get for this sort of money 1 of 4 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from walliswizard 4 Stars ()

Advantages Lightweight, relatively cheap

Disadvantages No nano-coating like on the (way) more expensive primes in Nikon's range

Brilliant piece of kit for any photographer looking for high-quality shots on a relatively low-budget. Photos are sharp, with very shallow depth of field available to you if you need it. Definitely the lens to buy if you want to upgrade your kit lens, but it won't be out of place in a professional photographer's bag either.

It suits full-frame DSLR Nikons - the D700, D3, D3s and D3x, but will also fit the crop-sensor bodies too.

The minimum aperture for this lens is 1.4, with a maximum of 16. As a prime lens there is no zoom functionality, but the trade off is the sharpness of the results. And anyway, use your legs if you need to zoom in or out! Over all, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.
