The camera itself is well designed and the shape is created for ease of use, which it definately achieves. You can take pictures one handed, and find your thumb fits automatically over the zoom button. This has got to be a highlight of the design.
The camera does have a very slow start-up, and take quite a while to actually take the photo once you've pressed the capture button. Which can cause severly blurred pictures. Having said that, it is also very capable of taking incredibly sharp pictures.
The optical zoom, of 8.3 is almost unheard of on cameras of this price range. And performs beauitfully. It is definately one of the best features on this camera.
The features of this camera are many. This could get confusing, but it definately aids to the quality of picture. It puts the person behind the camera in control, unlike many other digital cameras around at the moment. You are very much in control of the out come of the picture.
Some of these features include: - As previously mentioned, the 8.3 optical zoom. - A big LCD screen, 1.8 inch. - This is where it can get confusing. 15 different scene modes. Although it is fairly simple to switch between them, using the dial at the top of the camera. - 4 million pixel - 13.5MB of internal memory - Can record video TV sized with sound - Apparently can attach 20 secs of sound to each still image. But I've never really worked this out. - Built-in Speedlight flash
This camera would be ideal for someone who doesn't want a standard point and shoot camera, but looking for something a bit higher up in the photography class. A steo up from a point and shoot.
