The is the little brother of the 8700 and 8800. At the price it is being offered at not (sub £400 if you search!) this is a bargain that cannot be missed. It's an SLR like camera in that the electronic view finder takes it's image from the lens but the lens are not interchangeable, although telepohot and wide angle lenses can be fitted over the standard lens using adapters. It takes a compact flash card upto 2GB in size, which may sound a lot, but that only 133 shots in TIF mode, although many hundreds more in JPG!
The menu system is a little fiddly to get used to but once learnt it gives you a massive amount of functions to play with. Basically it goes from fully automatic to fully manual.
If you buy this camera you will not regret the choice made! The only reason I have not given the an excellent is because it's big brothers are a little better - but cost considerably more!)
