I received this camera for christmas '05. Having little previous knowledge on cameras I relied on recommendations.
I myself do recommend this camera.
Aesthetically it is beautiful, the camera is small enough to fit discreetly into a bag with lovely silver features.
I am a Landscape Architect so the many different categories for photography are useful, although as stated in my cons when doing very close up photographs I have to ensure the shadow of the zoom does not get in the way, a minor irritation.
When taking a photo the camera takes one or two seconds to capture the image, to happy snappy diposable camera types this can be annoying but for the quality of the photo achieved I don not see this slight delay as a problem.
