It also has electronic Vibration Reduction which helps you to get photos which are not blurry by steadying the picture should you move a little when taking it; this feature has helped me greatly.

I recently bought the Nikon Coolpix S200 as my old camera had become very aged. This camera is so easy to use it has helped me take a better class of photo straight away.
It has a fairly full range of features which will no doubt take me a long time to learn to use but if you already know your way round a camera will be very useful to you. The camera is a 7.1 mega pixel which I wont try to explain but will tell you that even when zoomed in on your pc or printed in a much larger size will still provide very clear images. It also has electronic Vibration Reduction which helps you to get photos which are not blurry by steadying the picture should you move a little when taking it; this feature has helped me greatly.
This camera like most takes an SD memory card to allow you to store many pictures at a time. It has a 3x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom allowing you to capture far away images very clearly. One of the reasons behind me choosing this particular camera was its size and weight. It is small enough to fit neatly in my handbag or even in to a pocket, it is very light too although very robust at the same time.

There are of course many more features but to list them all would not make for good reading. I would recommend this camera to people who love to just pick up their cam and snap away as it has an automatic function which sets itself to the correct options for the conditions. There are however enough options and things to fiddle with to make this camera useful to the more adventurous photographer too. The image quality of the pictures taken with this camera are excellent and it is so easy to use and to connect to your pc that it should definitely be looked at if you are in the market for a new camera. It cost me £145 from a local store and came with a 2 years warranty which is from the manufacturer so I guess is standard.
Advantages: Functions well in daylight; looks good and is fairly compact Disadvantages: Picture quality is middle-of-the-road; is awful in low light
The Nikon Coolpix is a good-looking camera; that is not to be doubted. I was initially very pleased with it, but have since been a little underwhelmed. Although I think Nikon are a very good company who on the whole turn out some excellent products, I am unconvinced that the S200 is one of their best pieces of work.
My main gripes are twofold. Firstly, I do not think that the picture quality is anything better than average, and there are certainly ... ...it.
In sum, the Nikon Coolpix performs adequately when used in a social setting by the amateur. However, even then, it simply is not the best camera on the market for this purpose. Take this with the weighty downsides, and I would have to recommend looking elsewhere. ...

Advantages: Nice feel to the Camera , easy to use and takes clear sharp shots Disadvantages: not as good sensitivity for low light as some other Cameras
...The Camera has what Nikon refer to as a "Electronic VR" which is just an otter description for " anti shake Mode" and works very well
I have taken many Pictures at night on FULL AUTO without a proper Tripod by simply resting the Camera on a wall or other suitable support with very good results
The Camera does have a good sensitivity Range ( up to 800 ISO ) but not as good as the Fuji F 31 FD which we have also tested
In common with a few new Digital ... ...sensitivity is concerned but the Nikon I feel is easier to use and is Ergonomically better ( seems to fit in the hand better and have al the controls easy to use )
I also have a Nikon SLR Digital Camera but for quick shots or for occasions when I don't want to carry the SLR , I have no hesitation in taking the little S200 and know that I will get good shots
Of course the SLR gives better results due to the physical size of its internal CMOS sensor ...

Take your computer screen; most people will have it set to 800x600 (that’s about ½ a million pixels). Those numbers are the amount of pixels on your screen. So if you have a 3 Mega pixel camera, all the images you take will have 3 million pixels on the photograph.
8 x Optical Zoom. Optical zoom is the part of the camera that takes you closer to the thing you want to photograph without you actually having to move. Clever stuff! I’m sure you all know how magnification works so I won’t dwell upon it, but using optical zoom the lenses are photographing exactly what they see. The higher your optical zoom the better. High in comparison to the Fuji F602 (6x) and this costs almost an extra £200 or the NikonCoolpix ...
