"Nikon's new prestigious D200 is ideal for those looking for a camera to bridge the gap between the professional and the entry level Digital SLRs. The D200 delivers the incomparable quality of professional pictures whilst offering exceptional versatility, creative responsiveness, accuracy and full manual control. The D200 is the perfect camera for the semi-professional and freelancer who want an affordable SLR that integrates the right portion of diversity, quality and reliability of Nikon's professional high-end models"-Numours websites, but don't you think that that just says it all? I do!
Warning: The D200 is supplied without a lens
This camera offers great photos with it's 10.9Megapixel's and a 2.5"ACL screen 230,000 pixels Low temperature polysilicium TFT screen, there is no digital zoom but there is optical zoom but that depends upon the lens.
With this cameras price, I would have thought that it came with video but that is sadly not true, the camera however has a CompactFlash I & II and microdrive card port, USB2.0 and Pictbridge.
This product also comes with EN-EL3eLi-Ion Battery, MH-18a quick charger, AN-D200 strap, body cap, UC-E4 USB cable, EG-D100 AV cable, BM-6 ACL screen protector, DF-5 viewfinder protector.
All in all a good camera, but at a price.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
It says Nikon D200 (Body), which means that it doesn't come with a lense. If you have used any SLRs before, you would know that you need to buy a kit or get a lens to fit the same mount (Nikon mount). There are probably special lenses just for DSLRs.
Also, most such cameras don't come with video, because it's not meant to be a video recorder.
The image itself is probably 10x bigger than those found in smaller pocket cameras.
Nikon body's are durable and have good ergonomic properties. At first look, Nikon looks more luxurious than Canon cameras, although that's a personal opinion.
