I purchased this camera to jump start my photography business and it sure worked. The price is a little high, but the quality is worth every cent. The D300 produces magnificant works of art. With its 12.3 megapixel, clarity is key. Not to mention how fast the D300 is. It will shoot up to 8 frames per second. That is great for when I do sports photography or just taking a couple pics of some little rascals. Of course it has a very large display screen(3 inches), for a peek at your latest shot to compensate for error. Great camera and wonderful tool for the trade. Appropriate for all ranges of photography from e-bay listings to quality portraits for your customers. A must have to ensure a photographers mission statement of all quality for all customers. I'ts big enough and heavy enough to let you feel that you've spent you money on a high quality piece of machinery. In simple terms: megapixels=picture clarity and quality dynamic area AF=makes sure that everything in viewfinder is crisp and clear 8 fps=really fast shutter, more pics in less time nikon d300=reliable, comfortable, quality, crisp, quiet, strong, and did I mention reliable.
